Definitely. And also the fact that the actress who plays Regina is just SO GOOD at being bad that it's fascinating to watch.

Also, why does everyone keep falling in love with Regina? I don't find her that pretty, I find her terrifying.

DOWNTON SPOILERS THAT DON'T REALLY BELONG HERE:

I knooooooooow! And I think having him and Daisy marry right before was cruel. Romantic, but cruel...Daisy is such a sweet and naive girl, this will ruin her, mark my words. And also...Matthew! Why?!

TONIGHT'S EPISODE. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. THERE ARE NO WORDS.

SPOILERS:

This was probably my favorite episode yet. Emily de Ravin annoyed me as Belle at first, but I really grew to like her. And I loved the significance/symbolism of Chip the teacup! And the episode was just so INTENSE and...gah! Also, we now know that both Mr. Gold and Regina know about the curse. I was jumping up and down on my bed during that scene.

What did everyone else think?

SPOILERS!!!! (maybe, depends on what I write )

I agree with you Ari, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! Honestly, this is my favorite episode so far. I absolutely love the Beauty and the Beast story, so to see little things like the chipped teacup added in was awesome! Plus I really like Rumple's character, very interesting and twisty, so to see another episode where he was one of the main characters was fantastic! At the end with the teacup almost made me cry, it showed a different side to his character. And oooh if Rumple finds out Regina has Belle....I wouldn't want to be her!! I loved it when Gaston showed up and Rumples door, he didnt even get to finish his macho man speech, cracked me up!

I really liked it, too. :D Though actually, the constant Disney references sort of annoyed me-- I have nothing against a good Disney classic like that but there's many more different sides to the Beauty and the Beast story than just Disney's version! But good Lord, a tormented man longing for love? How can I resist?! :D

Oh! And the revelation that Mr. Gold knows about the fantasy world! I had always suspected-- in fact, I had almost assumed he did, since it's so clear he's just as or more powerful than the Queen!

@Arabella: I know I personally like Regina because she's got so much depth! There's the obvious "evil queen" side, but then there's also the side where you think she actually may care for Henry and others, and just want to have a happy life for herself. It makes her intriguing.

SPOILERS

Awwww, Gaston! I'm sorry, I cannot just dismiss him. He was Sage Brocklebank and I love him, so until they actually show me he was self centered and shallow, I won't believe it. All I saw of him was a man who cared about his land, who was weary of losing, who wanted to protect the girl he was engaged to, and who was willing to fight for her. Nope, cannot just take him as the Disney Gaston, no matter what they wanted me to do.

I didn't know how it would work with Rumplestiltskin as the Beast, but I quite liked it. I thought it was well done. And I also didn't like Emily de Ravin that much at the beginning either, but she did grow on me. It will be interesting to see where they go with her.

The jail scene! YAY! CONFIRMATION! I always assumed Mr Gold knew, but I'm glad we've got full confirmation for it now. This will definitely be an interesting dynamic.

Taur, I agree, it would have been nice to see some nods to other Beauty and the Beast stories. Like the magic ring, or her sisters, or something.

But also - when am I going to get my Archie Hopper back? I miss him!

They probably kept their story references close to the Disney movie because thats probably the story most people know, Disney's is the only version I know. I actually didnt know there was more to the story until y'all mentioned things like sisters and rings. I love how they made Rumple the Beast, I was leery of that at first, but it was really nice to see that side of his character. He's so my favorite character now, very interesting.

Also, remember that the show is on ABC, a network that's owned by Disney. Makes sense that they use their own stuff if they own the channel/company that makes the show. ;)

The newest Entertainment Weekly magazine mentioned OUAT, and the Emma/Graham romance that was cut short, and the producers said "All great relationships start off with hope, and the hope that it can overcome all obstacles. What greater obstacle is there than death?". So I wonder if that means we could somehow see Graham come back.

Ha! I think you've hit upon it. ;)

Yeah, I don't know. It just seemed a little too pronounced. In the end, I think I would have rather seen their own take on Beauty and the Beast rather than Disney's, in the way they have their own take on Snow White and the rest. Still, in the end it all came together, with the chipped cup being an important symbol and everything. Poor, poor, Rumple!

I think the Disney references are fine upto a certain point. The chipped cup being Chip was a big reminder of my childhood. That's one of the things I love about this show! I get to be excited about the old fairytales. As long as they keep bringing up something new, the old stuff like the Chip reference just make me jump with excitement. =) As long as they still have the ability to think outside the box.

What did people think of the newest episode, What Happened to Frederick? I liked that it answered some of our answers. But I wouldn't say this episode jumped out at me. It was still good, but not one of my favorites.

Agreed, the new episode didnt leap out at me, it was good, but not my favorite. It did explain some things, but just didnt leap out at me like some of the past episodes.

SPOILERS

Did anyone else find that episode just a bit...ridiculous? I mean, dwarves hatching from eggs? Really? And very little emphasis on Kathryn's disappearance...and Regina got a minute of screen time, and Henry got none!

SPOILERS!

When I saw dwarves hatched from eggs, I immediately thought of Gimli saying people think dwarves pop out of holes in the ground. I thought that was weird, but I thought Grumpy's love story was cute. I am surprised by the lack of 'Katherine is missing!' storyline though, I thought that would be a bigger part in this episode. Its nice to see people are starting to be nice to Mary Margaret again though. :)
