I wasn't too impressed by the trailer or plot actually. I don't know why. I mean, it does make sense in a way that they would genetically manipulate the dinosaurs even more, considering that's what they did with the first movies/books as well. But still. I'm not a fan of them creating a new dinosaur that never existed in any way/shape/form.

I do agree with you on that. There is so many species to choose from, what's the point in creating one that never existed? At least they are not speaking like I heard was an idea a few years back that got scrapped.

That was my thought at first too after I heard about this "new" dinosaur, but I prefer to wait and see how it's gonna be like in the movie, instead of being too hasty.

Btw, new photo:

I would be very sad if they were portrayed as anything but vicious to be honest. They've always in their way been the main "villains", and they very much were so in the books as well. I guess, however, that in accordance with the original plan in the books (which was to domesticate the dinosaurs to a point where people could own them as pets) it could make sense if they've created a new line of animals which could be more trained than in the previous films. But it'd still be a shame, because out of all the dinosaurs in the movies they are the most frightening in my opinion. Even if they're not actually correct in what they looked like irl.

I know, they are my favorite dinosaurs. Yeah size and looks-wise they are more of a Dromeaosaur.

I've always loved the Jurassic Park films (well, all except the third one, but I'll still watch it, just not as much). I originally wanted to see it because of Jeff Goldblum (since the Lost World got released in theaters about a year after Independence Day, and I loved him in that). The Lost World is the only Jurassic Park movie I've seen in theaters, and I think it's my favorite (although it may be tied with the first one, with the third one last). They've been advertising Jurassic World on television and it looks pretty impressive. It will either be this or the Poltergeist remake, since I'm unsure if I want to see Tomorrowland. I still remember some of the ads for the second movie about seeing the movie on Memorial Day weekend and then getting on the ride and holding on for dear life. This is yet another theme park ride I'll have to try (after the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland that have added characters from the movies). Speaking of PotC, I like this reference from the first movie:

John Hammond: "All major theme parks have delays. When they opened Disneyland in 1956, nothing worked!"
Ian Malcolm: "Yeah, but, John, if the Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists."

and some more favorite dialogue from the original:

Ian Malcolm: "God creates dinosaurs, God destroys dinosaurs, God creates Man, Man destroys God, Man creates dinosaurs."
Ellie Sattler: "Dinosaurs eat man, woman inherits the Earth." that gets a look from the men.

One of my favorite scenes from the original is when Nedry (played by Seinfeld's Wayne Knight) tells the dilophosaurus that he's going to "run you over when I come back down!" I always reply by saying: "If you come back down!"

I've read both Jurassic Park and The Lost World as well as Pirate Latitutes, which are the only Michael Crichton novels I've read so far. :)

The movie was phenomenal. I mean, there were flaws, but it had so many perks I'm ok with them.

Cool! Yeah my sisters and I are planning on seeing it soon. My youngest sister is just getting back from a mission trip to Guatamala so we thought we go see it soon kinda as a welcome home.

Hey everyone, check this out:

http://www.attraction-tickets-direct.co ... ssic-world

I only lasted 4-7 days. I think I'm going to have to brush up on my survival skills, since I would be in no rush to leave the island (seriously). If you scroll down, there's a few tips by a few paleontologists (sorry folks, not visiting the island is not an option).

I'm going for the second time on Father's Day, again in 3D, and again in our UltraAVX theater (which has reserved seating). Regardless of the flaws (like how you get a Jeep running again that's been sitting idle on an island for 22 years), I LOVED it, so I can't wait to see it again. I was a little iffy at first; familiar place, but different, but once I got used to the idea, I didn't mind the more modern version of the park (you would have a very hard time getting me off the interactive menus, since I'm a little like Lex from the original, a little quiet, but love anything technical, though I also love nature, so it's not the only thing that I would do). :)

Re-watched this the other day and I still love it. And great news, a fifth movie is slotted for a 2018 release! I'm for one exited as I think the whole Wu thing really allows for a good sequel. So far Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are the only actors confirmed for the next film but I'm still hoping for at least a cameo appearance by Laura Dern, Sam Neill or Jeff Goldblum.
