I have really been enjoying History Channel's Viking series! Its half way through its 4th season, and they have done a respectable job telling the tales. Is is historically accurate? No, but it uses history as a guideline and tweaked it for dramatic effect.

I've been wanting to watch it. I've been wanting to watch a lot of shows, but I lacked the time for it.

One of my favourite shows after The Walking Dead & The Flash. Lagertha is from my hometown! The actress, of course. ;)

I think Kathryn Winnick (Lagartha) would make a good Eowyn.

Well, so much for wishful thinking. SBS changed their scheduling due to pressure from History Channel on showing it before it aired in the USA. So now SBS scheduled it to be shown starting in January! Grrr.... guess I'll have to watch it using my U.S. DNS... if the old laptop can manage it. It had a battery issue and may have died. Setting up the account on a new laptop will be a challenge since there are more obstacles in place to prevent this sort of thing.

Yeah. History Channel website. Depends on where you are located as to whether you can get on it or not.

I've watched a couple episodes online from the states, but the connection quality was average and they would freeze at times. So, I will start watching the series 4B next week!

I missed the 1st 2 Eps of the continued season 4, but caught up yesterday on SBS on Demand.
I'll probably wait to watch Ep 13 as watching it on the app has one 30 second commercial twice through the show, whereas the live-to-air has at least three if not four ad breaks that are a couple minutes long.

I have been watching some of the episodes but I haven't followed it from the beginning. I do like their costuming!

Season 5 will be beginning in November in the states, and likely January here in Oz. Looking forward to it! Also, they announced a season 6 that will explore the eastern adventures into Rus and the beginnings if the Varangians! Katheryn Winnick's days as Lagertha will be numbered as she grows older, and will likely die in battle or by old age in I suspect season 5 sometime, and she will be directing one or more episodes of season 6!

I got into a discussion on fecebook about this, and will post my comment here...

" I get a chuckle from all the people who say they won't watch if Largertha dies or are still sore Ragner was killed. If you want a show that stays basically the same season after season after season after season with basically the same characters, I suggest you watch NCIS. One of the great things about this Vikings series is it moves on, and characters are killed or grow old and die. New characters are brought in or born and grow, and it doesn't bog down into one or two characters' personality show. And no, it isn't historically accurate, especially with the timeline, but it is a TV drama, not a documentary."
