I was sick yesterday so I didn't go to work. With the cold meds, I didn't do much, so I went to my DVD library and pulled out a series that I havn't watched since the 1990's sometime, and before that, I watched it when it aired in the 1970's. It is the BBC production I Claudius. I used the old Roman spelling as they had not yet started using the 'U' until many years later. I watched it through to the death of Augustus Ceaser, and A couple observations I made is I think Peter Jackson got the whole scene of Bilbo's messy filing of his maps and papers directly from this show. And I could see Ian Holm may have channeled Dereck Jacobi in his fumbling around looking for the ring. Anyway, even after 40 years, the acting and scenes still hold up well! |

Hm... Is that a good thing or a bad thing that PJ seems to have taken from that scene and Ian's act somewhat of conspiring with the plot? |

I remember watching it when it was first shown, and enjoying it very much; especially Derek Jacobi's performance as Claudius. |
