Got so many books I want to read I don't know when i'm going to be able to fit them all in. I want to read the Stephanie Meyer books and I have a few Jodi Picoult books I am yet to read too. Like those books much?
I know, I have a reading list as long as the Chinese Wall.

I haven't read the Twilight series and I don't know Jodi Picoult... I believe I've heard her name but I can't connect any titles to her name...
ethelfleda:: I'm so glad you posted here. I know how much you love the Brontë sisters and especially WH and whenever you express your passion about the book, I feel like reading it.

nicer characters would have provided a far gentler and easier and (in my opinion) far duller and more forgettable read. it's testament to the genius of emily bronte that she could create such dislikeable characters, and yet still keep you interested in their fate.
I think this is the essence of WH, because heaven knows the characters are truly dislikeable! I didn't like any of them but I found myself constantly trying to find traits in their personality or actions that I could relate to or even understand. But there was nowhere my mind could rest and seek refuge, like there usually is in a novel where the protagonist is someone one can identify with or there might be a minor character narrating the story which one can at least sympathise. It might have proved a very stressful read to me and that might be why I didn't like it!
And by the way, I didn't understand a word of Joseph's lines!
