Hm... *thinks* Erm... The Lady in the Lake? The only moral women I can think of are the ones in lesser roles. lol

Yeah, Guinevere/Morgan/Morgause aren't, really. Oooh, maybe Nimue? There are different interpretations of her, though.

Lol, Melda. In The Pendragon Cycle, Nimue is actually the only immoral woman. She ends up being Morgain.

(I actually started reading the Pendragon series by D.J. MacHale because I thought they were about Arthur. Yeah, um, I was wrong. Oh well. :P)

I've just remembered that one of my favorite "chick-lit" books is called Avalon High and it's about a group of kids who are supposedly the people from the King Arthur stories, reincarnated. I know it sounds dumb but it's actually pretty good. (But purists, you probably shouldn't read it... :P)

I wouldn't say I'm a purist. Hehe. Hard to be, really, with all the different interpretations out there. I don't know whether I like nice Lancelot or arrogant Lancelot, hotheaded Gawain or calm Gawain, ninnyhammer Guinevere or smart Guinevere...I'm very confused :P

Hahahahahah! I didn't mention it...I thought no one else'd read it anyway... And I was a bit ashamed that I liked. :P I usually don't read chick-lits...
It was veeeeeeeeeery cheesy, I knew how it would end when I was at about 10 pages in the book....but it was niiiiiiiice :P Just an instant-happiness book. :-D :P
The only thing I didn't like about it was that I finished in about an hour...or less, I don't know. I read too fast. I should just relax and try to enjoy reading....but I can't. :P I try, but I can't help it.

Duh, a trademark of chick-lit is cheesy! :P But it's a fun read, anyway, and it's what got me into King Arthur in the first place. :D

Well, I went to the used book store today. They didn't have the entire Stephen Lawhead series, only 3 and 4, I think, so I didn't buy them. I did find The Camulod Chronicles by Jack Whyte. I bought the first two of five, to see if I like them. lol

They sound interesting- *clears throat and reads from the back flap* "Before the time of Arthur and Camelot, Britain had become a dark and deadly place, savaged by warring factions of Picts, Celts, and invading Saxons. The Roman citizens who had lived there for generations were suddenly faced with a deadly choice. Should they leave and take up residence in a Roman world that was corrupt and utterly foreign? Or stay and face the madness that would surely ensue when the Roman legions- Britain's last bastion of safety for the civilized- leave? For two Romans, Publius Varrus and his friend Caius Britannicus, there can be only one answer. They will stay... etc, etc."

Sounds like those two guys are Arthur's great-grandfathers. *keeps reading to herself* Their actions... shape a nation... ooh- Excalibur!

So anyway. Has anyone read those books?

No, I haven't read them. They sound interesting, though.
