Meldawen, you've read "Mara, Daughter of the Nile?" I love that book! It's been ages since I read it and I really don't remember much, but I do remember really liking it.

For a good fantasy read, I would suggest "The Singer of All Songs" by Kate Constable. Very gripping, very original, unlike most twentyfirst century fantasy.

Kudos to Kitoky for the fabulous signature set, and art credit to engelszorn.

Yeah, it's one of my favorites! I thought it would be boring because I had to read it for school but then I couldn't put it down :P THAT'S my kind of romance. I never get tired of reading it over and over, either...

Mirror or Confessions of an Ugly Step-Sister are good ones by Greg Maguire

EDIT: Hmm... Odd. Dragonlance in the adult section... Is there anything in it that a 13 yr. old shouldn't read?

I read it when I was still 12, so there you go. The reading level is not incredibly high, and the plot in general is pretty simple to assimilate. The characters are all adults, and there are a few brief sexual scenes (though they don't go into detail). The morality and philosophy are incredible. I learned much from that series.

Ummmm....Tamora Pierce is an amazing author. Its a fairly simple read (Depending on which series you read) but they are all very enjoayable and I reread them more than any other books.

Dragons of Autumn Twilight, by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. It's wonderfully written and the storyline is excellent!

Well, if you like fantasy, I would reccomend T.A. Barron's books. He has two series of books (at least I think so) The Lost Years of Merlin and the Avalon trio. They're very good.

I also like A Wrinkle in Time, A Wind in the Door, and A Swiftly Tilting Planet, by Madaline L'Engle. These books are sort of a mix between sci-fi and fantasy - very entertaining.

Another good set is the 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' series. The first one's called The Lightning Thief, and the second one's The Sea of Monstors. These books are extremely funny!!! :teehee:

Like Meldawen said earlier, the Artemis Fowl series of 5 books is very good - they're by Eoin Colfer.

The Oracle Betrayed is also the first book of a series that I like (I can't remember the names of the other two books)

I hope that's enough! :P

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but the Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth Nix is an extremely good fantasy series. If you like Lord of the Rings [I'm assuming you do.. :duh:] then you'll definitely like the trilogy.
