Tanis: Exiled half-elf who hides his heritage behind a beard. His battle between his two heritages is incarnate in his turmoil over two loves - the human swordswoman Kitiara and the elven princess Laurana. He is the unofficial leader of the heroes, though he often feels he doesn't deserve the title.
Raistlin: Golden-skinned human mage. Generally shunned by society, he is the most intelligent and enigmatic of the companions. He passed the Test at a young age and paid dearly for his power. Dark secrets lurk behind his hourglass eyes...
Caramon: Raistlin's twin brother. The typical all brawn and no brains warrior, he is everything Raistlin is not. His caring soul makes him popular among his friends, and he is torn between his blind devotion to Raistlin and his love for another.
Tasslehoff: Carefree kender (halfling) always getting his friends into trouble, but everyone loves him anyway. He doesn't steal; he borrows.
Flint: Grumbling old dwarf. He does have a soft soul, as illustrated by him taking the wandering Tanis in and caring for the young half-elf. The worst thing one can do in his presence is remind him of his paternal friendship with that "doorknob of a kender," which he obstinately denies.
Sturm: A human knight who lives by the code, "My honor is my life." He left his homeland long ago in pursuit of something greater, some lost nobility that the Solamnic Knights in all their righteous bluster had long since forsaken.
Laurana: Beautiful elven princess of Qualinesti, whom as a spoiled girl fled her homeland after her childhood sweetheart, Tanis. The journey has morphed her into a resolved, wise leader among men.
Goldmoon: The lovely human daughter of the Que-shu Chieftain, she is strong, sedate, and wise. Bearing the a strange staff, she fled her tribe to remain with her forbidden love, Riverwind.
Riverwind: Shepherd of the Que-shu tribe. Stoic and reticent, he remains distrustful but bears a protective love for Goldmoon.
Tika: Feisty barmaid-turned-warrior who tagged along after a catastrophe struck her hometown of Solace. Watch out for her skillet.
wow, that took a while to type up. hope it helps

I FORGOT STURM. You have no idea how much I beat myself up about that. Sturm was my favorite character, and I forgot to mention him. Ohmygoodnessgraciousgratballsoffire. Seriously. And... the same thing happens to him as o all my favorite characters. Argh.

Thanks, LDM. That was a very helpful list.
Should I infer from what you said, Tar, that something tragic happens to Sturm?

I was trying so hard not to include spoilers in my descriptions too... to find out, Aerandir, you shall have to read the series yourself. you've interrogated enough. *drags you to the bookstore*

Not at all, actually.
Will you stop inquiring and read the book?

I'd love to go to the bookstore!!!!.....but they probably wouldn't sell it in English here, so I'd have to order it online, which isn't half as fun.
And since you guys won't give me any more spoilers, I'll just have to get on Wikipedia and read about it.

^you're no fun. it's the books that invoke the obsession, not wikipedia. *poke poke*
I've never liked Tas overtly much. He always seems to be getting in the way, though at times his humor does get to me. Tanis was a nice character though of late he's gotten too whiney. Currently it's Raistlin, WoS Palin, and the cool beyond cool Dalamar.
favorite dragons, anybody?

Mina is triply dead now I guess!
Favorite dragons? I loved the huge gold one that Fizban was aquainted with, I guess you could say ...what was his name?
And I loved Tanis in the chronicles, but he did seem a little 'eh' in Dragons of a Summer Flame
And how could I forget Dalamar?? I LOVE him!!!!!

Dragons? I wasn't really intent on the dragons. I actually liked Kitiara. She was pretty awesome. Along with Dalamar too, I didn't like his mistress, what was her name?
