Um, his official site thing. Here's a URL: http://www.alagaesia.com/news_tourdates.htm
He's only going to 18 States and then Canada. Which makes me so freaking angry because he's FROM Montana and when his first book came out, he was all over and when I got mine signed, it was at COSTCO of all places. Oh well. At least he's even COMING to Montana! Oh I'm so excited!

I stayed up til 3 last night... still not finished...
Dragons, like wagons,
Have tounges.
Dragons, like flagons,
Have necks.
But while two hold beer,
The other eats deer!

I haven't read it yet... I think I'll have to wait until my school library buys it, and that could be ages...

Err... *Hopes no one who has not read it sees that* Shall we discuss it on the spoiler thread?

RUE! Oh my cow. I'm going to KILL you. I haven't read Eldest yet and I just read what you said about the end! *cries* DANG.
(don't worry, I still love you, but I AM hopping mad right now.)
*sob*
Anyway. Please no more Eldest spoilers on this thread! I'd like to just have an Eragon discussion please! *begs*
Going back to earlier statements.
When I first read the book, I thought the beginning was rather boring and unoriginal. But by the time I'd made the middle of the book, I was hooked. Sure, it had elements of other stories in it, but how could it not? Any story that tries to represent the truths of life is going to be similar to others portraying the same thing. I think the reason everyone thinks it's 'unoriginal' might be because we're going in with very high expectations. LotR fans just naturally expect more; I mean, look at the standard we've got! I've never found a book as comprehensive and enthralling, as well as realistic and truthful, as The Lord of the Rings.
As for damsels in distress, I personally think that's very wrong. Number one: what's wrong with damsels in distress? Just because women are often capable of taking care of themselves doesn't mean they have to be. Are we going to call women PoWs damsels in distress and make fun of them, now? I don't think so. There is absolutely nothing wrong with needing help. If we females suddenly need to be ashamed simply because we can't always fend for ourselves, or are in a situation where we need assistance, then I'll just go jump off a cliff now.
Number two: Arya was in no way a 'damsel in distress.' Can we POSSIBLY scorn someone who undertook a long and risky journey, used all her energy to send something precious to a safe place, was captured, tortured, poisoned, and mentally attacked? All right. Whoever it was who called Arya a damsel in distress, please stand forward. Dare I ask if you have done any of those things? Ah, I thought not.
I'm frustrated with the nonchalant attitude of those who judge without thinking of how they would react in the same situation. She went through all of that, then still managed to attack Eragon's mind, and look how quickly she was healed! Then she fought along with everyone else in the battle.
There's my [s]two[/s] ten cents. I'm sure I'll have more later.

Kudos to Kitoky for the fabulous signature set, and art credit to engelszorn.
Who wants to join me in bringing back the lady?

I agree completely. Maybe we should delete that post up there... Just a thought.
