Mhhmm.. so far, I can't see a subject topic that contains Anne Rice.. so don't kill me if I'm wrong. -shifty eyes- Anyway... I love Anne Rice's style of writing... though, I only discovered her a few months ago, after a friend introduced me to her books. I've read most of the Vampire Chronicals... still haven't managed to get my hands on all of them yet.. to my great annoyance... but I absolutely adore what I've read so far.. I refused to watch any film interpretations, until I'd finished the books.. Anyone else here an Anne Rice fan? |

Hai, to me, I think that description is essential.. like The Vampire Armand - that had an entirely different atmosphere to it, than say... Merrick. The Vampire Lestat was a brilliant book, I thought.. I haven't finished them all yet.. still on Merrick. My favourite soooo far... is definately The Vampire Armand. |

I've alot of her books, I used to be such the fan in Junior High/ High School. My favourite books are probally Blood and Gold, and The Vampire Lestat. The Interview movie was good, even though a few characters might have been casted too old. Now QOTD on the other hand, I almost threw the book at my tv when I was watching it. Very bad it was. |

I loved the books, and I really did enjoy the move of Interview With a Vampire.. though, this is the literature thread. XD;; As for the QOTD book... I literally forced myself to read that, because I wanted to read the next in the series. It was the worst one I've read of Anne Rice's... but, I made it through that one... I must admit, that it had its good points, all the same. The movie was....awful. Memnoch The Devil, I found myself enjoying a LOT, for some reason.. I loved the way Satan was put across as 'The Ordinary Man'... that was something new to me. When she finished the Chronicals, I think she did a few vampire spin-offs, ne? Like the violin one, and Pandora. I'd love to get my hands on The Mayfair Witches, though.. that sounds good. It's just a shame that she moved on to writing less, and less about that genre... the last I knew, her books were reported to be completely religious, now... |

There was the New Chronicles of the Vampires. That included Pandora and Virtiro the Vampire. Then later the vampire and mayfair witch stories came together. It started in Merrick, and went to Blackwood Farm. |

I know... but, I think there's also a seperate series of The Mayfair Witches? The idea began in Merrick, I know that... Mhhmm... maybe because I read the QOTD book, was why I hated the movie.. it just wasn't true to the story. Probably if I'd watched the movie before, I would have enjoyed it. The series 'Lasher'.. that's supposed to be good, ne? |

'Lasher' is part of the Mayfair witches series. It has three books, the other two being 'The Witching Hour', and 'Taltos'. It's been a long time since I've read those though. Start out with 'The Witching Hour', it's a bit long. |

Ooohh, I knew the corresponded with something, but I wasn't sure what! ^^;; Anne Rice writes under a few different names, too, ne? I think they're the books, that are probably lesser known? In the Mayfair Witches, I think I remember hearing, that it's much less vampires, and more demons, and such... which would probably be rather fun to read, because I've only ever read that one genre of hers. |
