My favorite Narnia books are Prince Caspien and The Horse and his Boy, I can't decide between the two. As for favorite character, I'd have to go with Prince Caspien.

I've read the sci-fi trilogy, which I liked okay. The first one was my favorite. The first time I read the last book, That Hideous Strength, was at age 12 and it kinda spooked me. That was the same year I attempted the Lord of the Rings books. I kept having nightmares of huge talking trees trying to kill me.

Shieldmaiden: Well, I have recently read the sci-fy trilogy. DEFINTELY his adult trilogy. Now that you're a bit older, or so I gather, you should try it again. I really like that trilogy. Ransom is very spiffy. The sorns, hrossa, pfifiltriggi, (or however you spell it), the eldil, Maleldil... I love it! The layers of allegory, moral, and spiritual lessons that are in that story is overwhelming and simply wonderful! I loved it! And now I'm rambling... :bye: hehehehe!

Lothril, yes, my friend's name is Ransom. It's a great name, I like it.

that's a cool name...maybe he's named after ransom in the books?

i love that hideous strength...the first time i couldn't get through it--it has a decidedly different flavour than the other two books, but the second time round...wow, i was amazed by the complexities...and the references to arthurian myth were soooo cool! definately now my favourite book of the tril!

Nienor, that's cool. That is a really neat name. Although, his first name is actually Edwin, so he's Edwin Ransom (at least, I'm pretty sure it's Edwin not Elwin, but I'm not positive.) I like all three names personally. :-D The name Ransom is a cool name, the character was cool. :-D

... I was going to say something else, but my mind just died, so I'll end now.

lol! Well, you need to start laying a trap. Step one: try and see if they are interested in the trailer

Step 2: hopefully your friends love soundtracks, and hopefully the soundtrack to LWW will come out before the movie. In that case, get them into it.

Step 3: if you STILL can't get their interest, do what you probably should've for step one, and read bits from the book.

Step 4: Now that they're also hooked to bits of the book, get them to read the whole thing. Come on, it's an easier read then the Hobbit! ;)

Hopefully by this time they'll be hooked, both to the book and the movie, and ready to go with you. If all 4 steps have failed however,

Step 5: Invite them over for the night and have as one of your planned activities seeing the LWW. They'd be rude not to go. :P

---------------------------

Oh, yes, That Hideous Strength, one of the best books! :) I didn't understand it the first time I read it though, just as The Last Battle can be somewhat confusing to some people I believe.

From Lewis' Narnia series, the PRETTIEST passage is the creation of Narnia in THe Magicians Nephew. If you don't know what I mean, re-read it and see if you don't agree!

Hello :) , I just finished the first book "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe". It was wonderful. The chapter "The Triumph of The Witch" was very moving and shocking ( Aslan being tied up and shaven by the Witch's "army". I cried!). Fortunately, everything turned out right in the end. In the future I will try and read all the Naria books because the first one was wonderful!!

Lady Nienna Melwasuul, i'm glad you liked LWW! yes, the chapter is soooo good. i mean, not that Aslan is suffering, but it's so well written. i almost cried. i probably would have if i had first read it when i was older but...oh well.

Narnia is something special for me. When I first discovered it asa child, I was taken to magic world that almost existed for me. When I re-read it few years ago, the Wardrobe opened once again and I am under the charm of Narnia.

I love especially first and third part, they are most magical.

oh these Narnia books are incredible.. I also watched the movie..It was good but i think books are better than movie..
Set in the fictional realm of Narnia, a place where animals talk, magic is common, and good battles evil, the series narrates the adventures of various children who play central roles in the unfolding history of that world. I was taken to magic world with them..

I've been a Narnia fan for nine years. I've been (and still am!) an avid reader, and I read all the books by myself when I was in second grade. there's something about them that never loses its charm. the characters with their personalities, the horror that the evil queens and minions inspire, the glory of Aslan, and the magic of Narnia make for such a good collection of books. I've seen all the movies, and though the last two are most markedly different from the books, I enjoyed them very much.

Ooooh! I LOVE Narnia! My brother read the first two to me before I could read and they are FANTASTIC! Ironically I though that Prince Caspian was the most boring book, but now it is my favourite, go figure! Edmund and Lucy are my favourite of the characters--besides Aslan, of course!
