Of course books have made me cry! Far too many for my own good, I suspect.... Watership Down... Interview with the Vampire... The Picture of Dorian Gray. Player of Games. Ah, lots of books make me cry for various reasons. After finishing Interview with the Vampire, I couldn't stop crying for about twenty minutes... |

This time around on ROTK, I didn't actually cry, but I got misty-eyed when Frodo, Bilbo and Gandalf left for the Grey Havens. |

Let's see, a lot of books have made me cry. Bridge to Terabithia You Shouldn't Have to Say Goodbye Stargirl ((that one's weird, but I did)) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Dear Mr. Henshaw I'll try to think of a few others...

The only book that made me cry was The Two Towers right after Frodo got stabbed by Shelob and Sam was all like: "He's dead. He's dead. He's dead." In my mind, I knew from wasn't dead for some reason, but Tolkien just made that scene so convincing that I was doubting myself, so I cried. |

I'm honestly not sure...I think maybe it was the bittersweet ending. Those kids were really cruel. Or maybe I was just emo that night.

I think Silmarillion is the only book that has made me cry. At leas the story of Beren and Luthien has made me cry, and it's not the only one. Once my little brother wanted me to read Silmarillion for him but I couldn't read it out loud

I read Bridge to Terabithia yesterday. Then I read the ending again, cuz the first time I was in a hot car, so I read it again and the last two chapters took me half an hour, I was crying so hard. |

I think it's been said a couple of times before, but for me, it was Where the Red Fern Grows. I was about eleven, a nice girl who absolutely loved animals, and had to read it for class. I swear, by the third-to-the-last chapter, I was sobbing. I sobbed all the way to the end, and couldn't even look at the screen when we reached that part in the movie. =) |

Aww!  I've sworn to myself that I won't read that book, or Old Yeller, or any of those books where the dog dies in the end, or see the movies. Have you ever heard of a book called No More Dead Dogs by Gordon Korman? The kid in that one hates all the books where the dog dies. It's hilarious.

I read Where the Red Fern Grows... in eaither 5th, 6th, or 7th grade, I can't remember. My mom hadn't wanted me to read it before, because she thought I wouldn't like it, but it was the only reading book we had left for that year, so I read it anyways. And cried my eyes out. |
