We've finished Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises and are now moving on to Shakespeare's Hamlet. It's not bad, but I don't find that I care for any particular character in the play.

We finished Romeo and Juliet a few weeks ago. 
Romeo is such a whiner. Now we're reading To Kill A Mockingbird. It's pretty good.  One of the few books that we've read for class that I've actually liked.

Romeo & Juliet is such an annoying play. 
But To Kill A Mockingbird is EXCELLENT. Let's see, there's no way off the top of my head that I could remember everything that I'm reading for my classes.  But here goes...
For my British Studies class: "MacBeth" by William Shakespeare "Oroonoko: Or The Royal Slave" by Aphra Behn "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Brontë "Heart Of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad "The Importance Of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde "Wide Sargasso Sea" by Jean Rhys (with a slough of poetry and other random bits of literature )
and for my Conflict Resolution & Conflict Transformation class: "Just And Unjust Wars" by Michael Walzer There was another book, that I haven't read that we're supposed to read (and I don't remember the title of) but it hasn't been put on the market to be bought ... which makes no sense, but that's how they roll up here in Norway.  And we've had to read a ridiculous amount of articles, but I'm used to that from my Poli Sci classes back home.
We've already read "MacBeth" and "Oroonoko." I'm not a Shakespeare fan so "MacBeth" was painful...thank god I've seen it performed, otherwise I'd have no idea what was going on. XD And "Oroonoko," was really interesting. Now we're on to "Jane Eyre." |

In His Steps and Looking Backward are what I'm going through now... but I forget who wrote both of those.  I mean, I have a rough idea but I'm not positive and I'm too lazy to go check. lol Either way, both are intersting... though Looking Backward takes a bit of time to get into.

At the moment I am reading 'Perfume, story of a murderer'. The original, German name was 'Das Parfum'. The book is really interesting, and the most important person, named Grenouille, somehow reminds me of Gollum. At the same time I am reading LOTR again, in English, for my oral exam next week. |

About to start Crime and Punishment, not looking forward to it. We just finished Cry, the Beloved Country. I did enjoy it somewhat. Some parts do get stuck in your head after you write two papers on it. I finished this book a while ago, it is called "We". It is like Brave New World and 1984. I liked it slightly confusing. |

i have to read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury (finished it), a tale of two cities by Charles dickens, the dumbest generation, cant remember the author, and Life's a Stage, but i can't remember the author, by next school year. I'm on a tale of two cites, but it's not going well.  it is good so far. . .

I remember Fahrenheit 451. It was interesting. I think we watched the movie too. I've lately read Shakespeare's <u>Richard III</u>, Ibsen's <u>The Wild Duck</u>, a novella called <u>Daisy Miller</u> by Henry James, and then a large number of poems. |

I have a lot to read for summer homework... I just finished Brave New World by Aldous Huxley which I really enjoyed, and now I'm reading Jane Eyre for a second time. Another book I loved was The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, it's a beautiful play. |

Yay for the Hobbit! My English teacher was considering using it as our last book but decided the majority of the grade wouldn't be too happy about it. *pouts* Sigh. Actually I'm rereading it as well, because my dorm advisor had it in her bookshelf and let me borrow it. |
