i've recently bought the bok "Atonement" for my sister as her christmas present..

The night after, i saw a preview for the movie they were making after "atonement".. and it was rated R...

has anyone read the book?

is the book "bad" or is it just the moive?

I haven't read the book, but I'm bored so I looked up a few things. How old is your sister?

The movie is R for "disturbing war images, language and some sexuality". Further investigation says that the 'sexuality' is an erotic make-out scene (Clothes remain on) and some wet clothes. The movie is R because of a very realistic depiction of the evacuation of Dunkirk in WWII.

Oo, I'm really excited about seeing this. It came out in September in the UK, but I didn't get around to seeing it. I think I'm going to rent it when it comes out on DVD. Until then I'm definitely planning on reading the book.
