| Post subject: | The Lies of Locke Lamora ~ Scott Lynch |
The Lies of Locke Lamora is an amazingly good fantasy story by Scott Lynch, a new author! It uses the orphaned children formulae to a good effect, and makes for an intense and chilling tale. The only complaint I have is the over-abundance of flashback interludes filling in Locke's and other character's background. The information is good, but its somewhat disruptive of the main story flow. Still, a most excellent read! I'm now awaiting delivery of the second book of the series, Red Seas under Red Skies. |

After the great writing and enjoyment of the first book, I was deeply disappointed in Red Seas Under Red Skies. I struggled to read it as it wasn't very engaging at all. The characters didn't develop, and the best thing about it was when I read the last page. |
