I am almost finished with it, and I love it! I am very excited for the movie, which is coming out next year...Is anyone else a fan?

Oh. My. God. Can there be a bigger fan than I?! Ha ha ha! I'm obsessed with the DaVinci Code! I love it! I love it! I love it! *goes on for an hour* Dan Brown is amazing! *grovels* Ha ha ha! I think I read it in about a day and a half. Couldn't exactly put it down. Have you read "Angels and Demons"? It's a Robert Langdon story that precedes DaVinci Code. Really, very good. Apparently he's writing another Robert Langdon novel. I'm very excited. I've read his other books which are all very good.
About the film. The strange thing is, is that when I read the book for the first time, I saw it played out as a movie (with all the music and yada yada). So, I was pretty excited when I heard they were making a movie (yet I always have doubts about books made into movies). However, when I heard Tom Hanks was to play Robert Langdon, I was very, very sad. You have to understand that I worship Tom Hanks about as much as I worship LOTR and Dan Brown. But, in my mind, he just didn't fit Robert Langdon's description to me. (My mom said that's because Dan Brown basically described himself . . . ha ha ha . . . which is strangely true even though when I first read it, I had never seen him in my life!) But, oh well. The struggle will be when it comes out, and whether or not I'll see it. Which reminds me. My friend just got back from France and she said when they went to the Louve, parts of it where closed or something because they were filming there. And she got to see all the movie trailers and stuff. Yay!
Anyways. That's my opinion on the movie. But you can ask any of my friends and they'll tell you how obsessed with it I am. And makes me even more angry and frustrated at our society and a religion I will not name here. Hee hee hee! Okay. Enough now.

Okay. So, I just read Newsweek, and guess who's playing Teabing?! Ian McKellen! Eeek! Okay. Is this like a test for me to see if I really do worship this actors?! Ack! Okay, like I said before, as much as I adore Tom and Ian, the stupid company is SCREWING this book! BAH! *runs around screaming and pulling out hair* Okay, okay. I know this is a "LITERATURE" area . . . so, back to the BOOK!

I was kind of weirded out by the idea of Ian playing Teabing, but the idea has grown on me and I am looking forward to see what becomes of it. Audrey Tatou, from "Amelie" seems a good choice for Sophie. I am not quite sure about Langdon.
You're right, though--back to the book. I love how Dan Brown blends history (I know it's debatable) with suspense.

I loved it! I probably won't see the movie, though, because it will destroy my visions of the characters in the book. I've also read Digital Fortress and Angels and Demons. They're not as good as the DaVinci Code, but still great.

Uhh, nice book... Da Vinci Code... First I'd decided not to read it because all of the hype about it and it seemed to be exaggerated...
But then I got to read it anyway and it's good!!! Dan Brown actually knows stuff!!
But why is he suggesting that Sophie and Langdon are falling in love in the end... it wasn't necessary.... I'd imagined Langdon as being more like a professional partner and maybe a father figure to Sophie!!!
Interesting to see how the movie turns out!
Does anyone know who are casted to play the other characters?
