Yes!! I love the series.. it's so much more 'real' than LotR in many ways (which is not necessarily a good thing, but I happen to like it). I'm working my way through the tenth right now, it isn't quite as good as the previous ones, a bit tedious, but the next one should be very intense, so it's all good. Some may recall that I went under Sprunkit Sedai on the tag and chat a while back.. |

I have read only first book. They haven't translated others. I hate it! But the book itself...I couldn't help noticing similarites between it and LotR. But I like it. |

I've read 1 to 9 I think and have now given up on them. I enjoyed the first 5 but then they started getting slower and slower with more and more seemingly unnessessary characters. It didn't seem as if the story would ever go anywhere. Also I can't be bother rereading books 1-9 so as I can make sense of the new ones. Hopefully someone will tell me what happens in the last book if he ever writes it |

I like it, but on the other way i don't. Because when i pick up a book, i ALWAYS compare it with lotr...and lotr is the best novel so... |

I read something a dragonmount.com that in the 11th book Knife of Dreams all the minor characters and plots start coming together and that the twelfth book is the last book! |

I have read New Spring, and then 2-8 all the way through, I skimmed 9, and I read book 10. I thought it was a fabulous series. I'm waiting to get a hold of Knife of Dreams because I got to read the first chapter somewhere online, and I thought it was really good. I love the whole 'world' he created. Very ingenious. Mat is the coolest, then Rand, then Perrin, then Lan. So incredibly cool. |

Things really happen (almost frighteningly so ), or are about to at least, and it doesn't get bogged into politics too much. Quote: Mat is the coolest
Yay! Another fan of Mat! |

Lol...I'm afraid I can't help you out, Angrod - there's a lot of 'things' in WoT. So it is good, Sprunkit? I've been thinking it would be, but until now nobody I know has really stated what they thought of it. |

Those books are crazy, the way they have so much detail and so many minor characters. I think Path of Daggers (maybe, could've been one around it) only covered about three days but was as long as the rest! It's insane! But they're really good. |

Well I gave up, too many underlying plots and unimportant characters (such as nobles) that he wants us to know about, and I would forget about them in the next chapter because there would be so many. No more Jordan for me! Too time consuming, too many other good books to read! |

I've just started reading them and I love them! My friend gave me "The Eye of the World" for my birthday a couple of weeks ago and I've read that, the next two and New Spring so far. New Spring was good - I think perhaps because it was only really about Moiraine and you got to know her as a character, even though I don't think it was as well written nor did it have as much action. I've really enjoyed them. I've found them gripping and captivating. I like the characters and the world and so on. I think it works really well how it jumps about from character to character - normally in a book I hate that. I'm actually really impressed - I think that if I tried to write something like that my head would explode! I'm kind of lucky - I find it easy to follow what is going on because I read fast (I read the third one in just over a day... ) so I don't forget things as much as I otherwise would. Also I have a friend who is reading them all for the fourth time and a friend who just started reading them before me, so it's nice to have people to talk to about it and so on. I haven't really compared it to LotR - I just switch the ringer part of my brain off while I am reading... I'm about to read the fourth book. |
