Lol, I just do things like that. The library that I was borrowing the books from didn't have EotW, so I just started with TGH and figured the plot out as I went.

It worked out okay, in the end. :D

O_O You've no idea how horrifying that statement is, Aerlinn. You absolutely must finish the series! It only gets better as it goes on!!!! O_O

Awww, well I hope you read them again at some point Aerlinn! Really missing out otherwise. But I can see that it would be really difficult to finish a dozen 500+ page books without being interested. It might cause you to dislike them, and we don't want that. Come back and discuss when you like them again! :P

AIIEEE! I'm pretty much the only one left on here who cares, but whatever! I must share!

Browsing some WoT news....well, I admit I was slightly worried about Brandon finishing the series. It's so important. But apparently RJ wrote a good portion of the prologue AND the ending, so the end will be true RJ! Also :

Quote:
There are many mysteries explained in the notes, and some are specifically labeled as not to be revealed in the books. Some character relationships will also go unresolved. Just because the books get all written doesn’t mean the characters’ lives and problems don’t continue on.

GAH! NO NO NO! Unresolved is bad!

Do you guys think there will ever be a Wheel of Time movie or miniseries? I've read some speculation about it, but I don't know if it will ever be done. And then I don't know if I would want it to be done (although a well made movie of WoT would be super cool) because I would be worried that the film makers couldn't do the series justice. What do you guys think?

Well. Supposedly, there will be a movie coming out in 2010.

I have EXTREMELY mixed feelings on this, and I have to say the majority are not happy ones. I really don't know if they can do it justice. On another note, I was going through wotmania.com and looking at the "cast lists" that people make (some are so horrible it's hilarious) and found these two. Which are AMAZING.

It's Time to get things started,

Misty-nation-al,
Sniff-a-ration-al
Muppetational,
This-Is-Where-We-Ask-Who-Killed-AsmO!

Herid Fel: Dr. Strangepork (from, you know, Pigs in Space!)
Aginor: Dr. Bob (Veternarian Hospital, the continuing story of a quack, who's gone to the dogs)
Verin Mathwin: Professor Bunsen Honeydew
Shalon, the blackmailed Windfinder: Beaker
("Here at Acme Labs, Tar Valon branch, the Future is being created Today. Ask a White what that means. Today, we have created edible ter-angreal. Send us 12 gold marks, and we'll rush it to you today. My assistant, Beaker-Shalon, will demonstrate. Hmmm...causes one's nose to fall off...better yet, send us 14 gold marks, and we WON'T send it to you..." )

Rahvin: Pepe the King Prawn (I'll kiss anyone, just not pig).

Perrin, loveable yet hen-pecked: Kermit the Frog
and so,
Gaul: Scooter
Faile: Miss Piggy
but also,
Davram Bashere: Scooter
Egwene: Miss Piggy
Tylin: Miss Piggy
Cadsuane: Miss Piggy
Elaida: Miss Piggy on steroids

Romanda: Statler
Lelaine: Waldorf
("Why do we always come here? I guess we'll never know. It's like some kind of torture, for Egwene lead the show! " )

Masema: Animal
Fain: Animal (notice, they're never in the same scene...)
Mat: Floyd Pepper (dude)
Birgitte: Janis
Which means Gaidal Cain, when he shows up, will be Dr. Teeth
and,
Vanin: Zoot
Noal Charin: Crazy Harry
Master Hark: Rizzo the rat

Balwer: Fleet Scribbler (reporter for the Daily Scandal...he can even speak Swedish-chef).
Weiramon: the vain Captain from 'Pigs in Space' (assuming Weiramon doesn't turn out to be a super-smart super-spy Darkfriend)
Elyas Machera: Rowlf (Elyas is part-canine, after all, and I'm sure he'd play the piano, if there was such a thing in Randland). Rowlf is just so multi-talented, I couldn't limit him to Aginor.

Galad, Mr. I-do-have-a-sense-of-humor: Fozzie Bear, waka waka (ok, just kidding)
Thom: Fozzie Bear
Lan: Sam the Eagle (the big blue guy who's always depressed)

Rand: Gonzo the Great!
Which means,
Min: Camilla, Gonzo's faithful chicken

Voice of LTT: the Swedish chef ("Break the Seals, bork, bork!" )

Shaidar Haran: Clifford, the avatar of cool

The Aiel: the creatures that danced (get it? danced? hahahaha...erg) around to the song "Du duu du du du, M'nomena" - 'cause it was funny, but didn't make any sense.

Voice of the Creator: recording of Jim Henson (alas)
Voice of the Dark One: Frank Oz
(or maybe Frank Oz can do both...I mean, he's the voice of Miss Piggy and Yoda after all)

Alternate versions of the opening song

Seanchan version:
It's time to put on bracelets,
It's time to leash 'em tight,
It's to kneel to Bloodlines
On the Wheel of Time tonight!

Aiel 'Bleakness' Version:
It's time to break the spearheads,
It's time to dress in white,
It's time to serve the Sisters,
On the Wheel of Time tonight!

*editions by melred*
But i think i would have made
Mat- Gonzo the Great
Rand- Kermit
Perin- Fozzie Bear or perhaps Rewlf (you know big and hairy)

Elaine, Aviendha, and Min- Miss Piggi
Tuon- as Camilla

and
Thom- Rizzo the rat (loves food and is Gonzo/Mats sidekick.

Hah. That's absolutely preposterous. I hope they all shrivel up of old age (those who wish to make the movie). >_<Rest>_< I wish all three of them would be conveniently killed or something.

Oh my gosh I know this is like months and months after but I just need to drop in and say I absolutely LOVE this series! My friends all think I'm crazy for reading 11 humongous books but they're all so amazing! The intricacy, the development, the intrigue, the multiple plots, the fantasy setting, everything!
A movie? Seriously? They'll have to split all of them into three to get that much material in.

Woot! Good to know of other fans. :D And yeah, I can't imagine a movie. It's a crazy idea.

Yep, I got hooked. I own all the books that are out. I think my brother started me on them. Is the "Mashiara" in your name because of Nynaeve and Lan?

Post subject:

Hehe, me too. I have New Spring as well, which is awesome. :D

Yep! Well, actually, it's not because of Nynaeve and Lan, more just because it's a really really awesome sounding word and I love the meaning behind it. And I wanted WoT in my name. And it fits pretty well with Nurrantiel, much better than something like al'Vere or something.

Who's your favorite character?s?

Post subject:

Hey, that's funny, I own that one as well. Haha.
Yeah, definitely. It just sounds closer.
Hmmmm. My favorite characters...that's really really hard to say. There are just so many and it's so complex that I like quite a few of them. I like Elayne, and Aviendha, and Nynaeve, and Mat sometimes, and Perrin a decent amount of the time, Rand when he's not being a butthead like he is a lot of the time, Tuon because she's intriguing and I just love the part where she goes "Bloody Matrim Cauthon is my husband." and then asks if those were the words he used. I don't know...I like so many more...Haha. The one thing I can say is I hate Elaida's guts. XD

Mat only sometimes? Sad story. You must spend more time with The Reindeer and myself. He's such an awesome character, I love him. Ah. I liked Elayne at the beginning, but about half way through she really started to bug me. Though I did love when Aviendha told her she had toh towards Mat and went through all that stuff. Awesomeness. Tuon is just so interesting. I love her character. And I so want to know what happens now. Elaida.....argh. Cannot stand that woman.

Oh, well, Mat most of the time, but he is an idiot once in a while. Then again they all are, makes it more believable. I dunno, I always liked Elayne, maybe cause she and Rand had something going...lol. Seriously, who in the world likes Elaida? If you can find me one person who actually likes the woman, I might actually faint. XD. Er...the Reindeer? And I can't wait for tGS, November 3rd!

You MUST love Mat the most! It should be a requirement for liking the series. It's a fantastic series, but Mat is definitely the best part of it. ^_^

Btw, I'm The Reindeer, which stems from A Reindeer, which stems from a mispronunciation of my username.

Mat is the best.

Ah, I see. Well, Mat's frequent mind disturbances always crack me up or disturb me. And his whole reaction to it all. *grins*
