When I saw the name of this topic, the first thing that came to mind was the song 'Beds are Burning'. :P I have no idea why, and I bet you didnt need to know it. :)

But anyhows, the answers to your question, in chronological order.

- Re-read all the books, at least three times.

- Bombard JK Rowling with mail, begging for more.

- Re-re-read the books.

- Read Lord of the Rings.

- Re-re-re-read all the books, while waiting for the final movie to come out.

- Sit and cry because its all over.

- Watch all the movies again.

- Sit and cry because Dumbledore just died on the screen.

- Try and blackmail JK into writing more.

- Re-re-re-re-read the books.

- Spend half our lives doing re-makes of the movies.

- Try once again to get JK to keep going.

- Decide that LotR was better in the first place, and go re-re-re-re-re-read
The Silmarillion, and learn Sindarin.

I might skip from the first to the last, but you never know. ;)
Or maybe I'm already at the last. At least Tolkien didnt accidently kill off the best characters. I swear that was a mistake of JK Rowlings... :P

I think Celebwen has a reasonable plan of action.

To add to that, I'd say - looking for something new and different to read. If you focus completely on HP, you'd miss out on some other really good stuff that's out there.

That was definitly a mistake though appartently he might not be dead http://www.dumbledoreisnotdead.com/ :P
But Tolkien did kill off Boromir, he was one of the best characters.

We can also make up bizarre theories about what will happen after book seven and complain about what should have happened in the other books according to our privious bizarre theories. I will be very annoyed if Snape doesn't turn out to be good in book 7. He also needs to die to save Harry whatever J. K Rowling might think :P

I checked out the dumbledoredidnotdie site and it really offers some good arguements. however Rowling did say that a major character would die, and she wouldn't say that if she wasn't planning to kill off Dumbledore.

aren't I the pessimist? don't listen to me, everyone. I'm making people unhappy here.

That major character could have been...Karkaroff? Or Amelia Bones...

Eh, once the books are all published, I'll just look for other good fantasy books to read. Of course I'm not going to find any that are entertaining in the same way as HP, but there are still some great ones out there.

Hey you're just trying to make people face reality....I totally agree with you. I've read all the arguments, they're brilliant, but no I'm sorry he's dead. Feel free to rub it in my face if I'm wrong...but I'm not...:P haha I'm sounding like it's my way or the highway here but...I'm sure he's dead...

Great plan Celebwen...I'll keep those ideas in mind :D

I'm still a bit unsure about Sirius though. He's probably dead too but I'm not so sure

As great and convincing as the arguments on that site that I posted are I still think he's really dead. it would be too LotRish to have the great and old wizard seem to die and then come back to life.

However it's comforting to imagine that he didn't really die. Perhaps that the same reason that I'm still putting off re-reading book 6.

Oh and I found this on Mugglenet today:

Yeah... unfortunately HP will have to end sooner or later. But at least J.K. Rowling will stop it after the next book, because I've read some books where the authors just keep putting the characters into situation after situation..and of course they always come out of them. Her's is being a bit more realistic...

As for books.. I love reading too much to stop after HP, I'll just have to find ones that make me happy and laugh, of course none will be as funny as HP....
