has anyone read the book 'The Wind Singer' by William Nicholson? i have to read it for a book report and i want a rough sumarry about it first........ :)

I've read the entire series, I'll give up a summary.

Kestrel and Bowman and two twins, who are the children of the prophet Ira Hath. One day, Kestrel decides to go all rebelish, and starts shouting bad words from the top of the wind singer(an ancient instrument lft behind from the founing of the town). Her family get sent away to live in the slums of the grey district. Kestrel goes wandering, and finds the emeperor of her city, who sends her on a questto find the key to the wind singer. So Kestrel, her brother and a snivley little kid called Mumpo escape Aramanth. They go underground to escape these old children, who when they touch you make you old like they are. Then they get caught by a big city that attacks another movingcity, and are accusd of being spies...

Do you want me to continue, I don't really want to ruin the ending?

Ok then.

The moving city sentence Mumpo, Kestrel and Bowman to death, and send them out on a little wind powered craft to be destroyed by the other city. But Mumpo does a weird thing with the sails and they steer out of the way and destroy the entire fleet. QWhen thy get back, the leader of the city realises they aren't spies and let them go. So they keep on going and reach a big wall of fire. But the Old Children are there and they touch Mumpo and Bowman, and then get swallowed up by the fire. Kestrel continues and finds the key, but in the process she waks up an old lady, who awakens the Zars, and undefeatable army which wants to destroy Aramanth. Kestrelfinds out that Bowman and Mumpo have been turned into Zars, and she manages to make them come back, but they stoll can't fight the army. So they go back to the big moving citys, steal a wind cart and get back to Aramanth. Kestrel puts the key in the wind singer, and it begins to sing. All the Zars are destroyed and turn into dust. And the Wind Singer makes all the people of Aramanth forget their Kastes and they all go about hugging eachother and throwing paint over the houes.

Yep, really, I took the whole trilogy out from the libary for easter, but finished them on the first day.

Seriously; I´ve read the book for like 5 times... I adore the whole trilogy it´s so good...
