Yeah, I watched the video of the interview on Mugglenet. Though I don't want people to die, I can't say I'm suprised. JKR also said that she didn't kill off one person she was planning on killing, which is good news. |

Yes I've already read that as well. And I agree with Bellethiel, it didn't really surprise me to be honest |

It was announced on our news. I thought it was funny... oh, yes, of real national importance. ![]() I'm not surprised, personally. Two is actually not all that many, considering I think they're basically at war. I don't like the idea of characters dying, but I've noticed that deaths seem to make more sense once one has read the book; somehow its easier to accept them in context. (then, say, if someone tells you out of the blue or you read the last page of the book first. ![]() It wouldn't surprise me if Harry dies, I don't know. We'll have to wait and see. She's written six good books so far, I think we can trust her to write the seventh. ![]() |

I read about two people dying too. Personally my money's on one of them being Harry, and and the other being one of Ron or Hermione (Unless one of the two she was talking about was Voldemort) And it makes sense that she will have Haryy 'killed off'. For a start it means there won't be any pressure on her to write another one, as it will all be over. And it will mean that no-one will be able to write a sequel after her death. So yeah, it is likely harry will die, but I have thought that since the fourth book... |

I don't think that Harry will be killed. There's a 'Happy End' in most of her books. I'm sure that Voldemord will be killed, and I believe the second person is one of the 'good guys'. |

For anyone who missed the original story, here's link so you can read her actual wording: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/ ... mailedlink I hope that the character who got a reprieve is Snape who I had always assumed would be killed off as part of his redemptive arc. I really hope that Ron, Hermione and Remus don't get killed off. Actually, despite guessing he would get killed as well for several years now...now that it's so close...I don't want Harry to die. But Bellatrix, Peter, Lucius and Voldemort do need to die. |

Watched it on the BBC and read a bit about it on mugglenet. Personally I don't think Harry is going to die, nor Ron and Hermione. It'd be plain cruel to kill off Harry right at the end and I can't see JKR doing that. Ron and Hermione are both pretty safe because if they really don't do anything to the plot line, and if they were killed all it would do is make people angry. A definite death has to be Voldy, she can't have wasted 7 books and then not have him killed in the end. I'm a tad bit confused as to whether she means that 2 people will die including Voldy or 2 people will die besides Voldy. If it's the first choice then I think Snape will probably die. If it's the latter then I've got to think a little more about it. I'd say that Snape would still die but I don't know who the other person would be. |

I think it'd be bad if she killed off Harry just for the sake of not having the pressure of a sequel, she can just refuse. I hope it'll be Snape and Voldemort. It can't end with Harry Ron or Hermione dead it just wont be a happy ending, I guess it could be Hagrid... |

I'd love it if maybe Snape would die whilst [or after] saving Harry's life. Yeah... that'd be really cool. |

She does say "Two die that I didn't intend to die; a price has to be paid. We are dealing with pure evil here. They don't target extras do they? They go for the main characters. Well, I do." Sounds like it's two main "good" characters; at least that's what I'm getting. I do hope she doesn't kill Harry because I might have to throw the book out my window. Although a few friends and I have decided that it would be rather clever if her last line was "And then Harry woke up", but she would probably be mobbed afterwards, so... ![]() |

Yeah, and I'd be one of the ones mobbing her and planning her murder. ![]() If she ended the series by saying that Harry woke up or it was all a dream, I'd be so angry it's not even funny. I doubt she'd do that though... I mean, Harry's had one vivid dream then. |

^ yes that would really be a very bad ending.. I also don't think it would be a good ending to kill Harry, maybe he has to sacrifice something or so I think that'd be better |

I agree, it shouldn't just be a duel, Harry should have toi be tempted to the "dark side" or have to sacrafice something, or even better, kill himself. |
