Post subject:  The books of Ann Rinaldi

Ok..when I was on vacation, I found a book-The Fifth of March, A story of the Boston Massacre, written by Ann Rinaldi.

Reading this fictional book, which is based on non-fictional facts, opened my eyes to a whole different level of reading other than the normal books I read.

The summary is: Rachel Marsh, an indentured servant in the household of John Adams, believes she is well treated, and greatly admires Abigail and John Adams. Although not political herself, she worries about friends who support rebellion and have told her that a time will come when she will have to take a stand. It is only when she meets Matthew Kilroy, a young, argumentative British soldier who has been sent to Boston as part of a peacekeeping force, that Rachel begins to question British domination of the colonies and to see herself as an American.

Ann Rinaldi has other books written, and I'm planning on getting them, but if you're interested in learning more about her, go here: www.annrinaldi.com

I love Ann Rinaldi, and I've read many of her books seeing as historical fiction is one of my favourite genres. Have you read Nine Days A Queen? It's a short novel on Lady Jane Grey's 19 [or so] days as queen of England. The ending is really good, and I think you'd enjoy it! :)

It's fairly new, but it shouldn't be too hard to find. :)
