Took me long enough to find it, but I knew there had to be a Muse thread somewhere!
Muse is brilliant. Never much liked rock music, being a mostly classical fan- but Muse is classic and beyond.
Actually, they aren't so far removed from classical in many ways- Matt is influenced by Rachmaninov and his piano style. Butterflies and Hurricanes is the first I ever heard, and at first I didn't like it much- but my friend got me hooked once I heard the melodies in Knights of Cydonia and the beauteous Starlight.
Muse is brilliant, simply put. I love the emphasis on music over lyrics, too. And puppies living forever is my favorite explanation for Plug in Baby.

YES! Muse ftw!
I love Muse. They're absolutely brilliant. I first heard Supermassive Black Hole, and because I'm a rocker by nature, I absolutely couldn't resist it.
I have to say this: they have some of the most creative bass lines of any band I've ever heard. It's a daring and rare thing to have a strong leading bass part, but they pull it off so beautifully (Hysteria, Suppermassive Black Hole). For once the bass player isn't some bored guy standing by the drum stand looking dead-pan. Their bass work is amazing.

You were at Wembley?!? *dies*
My chum Matt has the HAARP DVD, and he and Rad and I were watching it on the TV last night and having a great time. You people realize what incredibly good performers they are? They find the right balance between taking themselves too seriously and not seriously enough, it's just right.
And I agree one hundred percent about the bass lines. Hysteria always makes me flip. And Supermassive Black Hole- that song scared me at first. I wasn't a huge Muse fan yet and I felt weird for liking it. But it's simply an energizing song.
Endlessly is great- and Stockholm Syndrome is too. Absolution is definitely my favorite album at this point.
I think my favorite song right now (and this changes pretty regularly) is Unintended. It's a beautiful song. Matt surprised me by being able to sing so prettily.

I loved watching Apocalypse Please on the DVD too- the way they had everyone clapping that intro and carrying it through the song. Rhythmically it's really interesting...and just plain awesome.
ETA-
Okay, so I just got my Muse piano stuff in the mail. My mum ordered it for me for my birthday, which was really generous of her. It took a while because you can only get it from the UK apparently...
I don't generally like piano arrangements of songs written for full bands. This particular book though only has the actual piano parts, and there are other books for the guitar and bass and drum parts, so I guess I can just add in those and 'twill be fine.
It'll be fun to bang out Apocalypse Please and Space Dementia. I already know most of Butterflies and Hurricanes.

Don't kill me, please! Double posting because Muse is so awesome and I feel lonely!
I just got Black Holes and Revelations yesterday, and it made me really happy. And last night I dreamed I was at a concert and Matt forgot how to play Feeling Good, so I got to go down and reteach him. *grin*
