I love Jazz, it's great, but I especially love Big Band Swing and Frank Sinatra. I love listening to Mr. Sinatra, especially in the morning, winter and when it rains.
I'm really happy that the new artists like Jamie Cullum and Michael Buble have brought back the swing and all that Jazz.....

I grew up listening to Sinatra! I agree though, there are certain moods where Sinatra just oozes in jazzy perfection. Sunset, with a glass of wine...
I also love jazz. I'm so glad my roommate's a music major because I can attend our music school's many concerts with her. ^^ Louis Armstrong, Coltrane, Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald are some of my favorite jazz musicians.

I absolutely love Billie Holiday! Her voice is just so...sultry. I remember reading her biography awhile ago and it's just so depressing! But, she definitely made some magical music!

It seems that in many cases, artists who live through many struggles produce some of the best things. The depth of life experience, I suppose. Not always, but I can think of many greats who didn't have easy lives and left behind great works.
