This thread makes me so happy! Thank you to everyone who has contributed with their childhood nostalgia. Great seeing so many artists I also used to listen to when I was younger and also in my teens.
*Feels like giving everyone one a huge nostalgia hug*

holy cow, this is the best thread ever. i love thinking about the music that reminds me of being little...cause it was the greatest ever and i still listen to it! lol
some favorites:
slide - goo goo dolls
save tonight - eagle eye cherry
two princes - spin doctors
anything by n*sync
i'm a believer & allstar - smash mouth
when i come around - green day
semi-charmed life - third eye blind (who knew that song was about sex and hard drugs? it sounds so happy)
pretty much anything old-school from matchbox twenty.
man, i know there are so many more. i'll probably be back...

Ooh I've thought of another one.
Whigfield's Saturday Night - everyone would sing that at school when I was about 8:

And about the same time there was the Macarena too

Aerlinn~Idunna wrote: Why did you all have such an awesome music taste as kids...I can honestly say I mine was a tad bit weird Still love this T.a.T.u. song though..it's just so great.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muJaDZA-_BkA-Teens, a sort of dance ABBA cover ( cover of Super Trooper) ZOMG...I remember bouncing around on this And being very hyper! And eating grass for some weird bet while listening to this..omg...the 90s vibe is killing me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPU6xa82 ... re=relatedBut this one..this still makes me hyper More A-Teens. I used to listen to this one all the time Halfway around the world, hahahah I have to admit that i still love it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7WhO8Go ... re=related ..who am I kidding? This song is awesome! And my S-Club 7 fandom. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POEzC0UMVxM - Bring it all back ♥ It's catchy... and the best advice ever.. Don't stop, never give up Hold your head high and reach the top Let the world see what you have got Bring it all back to you
Hold on to what you try to be Your in-di-vi-dual-ity When the world is on your shoulders Just smile and let it go I was 10, almost 11 when this was released...and loved it SO much..it made me bounce around the room..in fact, it still does! It's raining men - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyyBGjKA ... re=relatedAnd oh my...I loved Britney Spears... I mean, she wasn't THAT weird back then http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unBACOHFXes - Oops I did it again oh...arrgg.. * remembers walking around with a walkman with a Britney cassette* Hmpf. ...and not getting why my older cousin pulled a weird face and said she didn't like Britney's style.. I was so ignorant about anything with sexual intentions Well, what could you expect from a child that grew up with a) boys b) animals. Not exactly where you learn what other people consider oversexed I just saw a cool space shuttle and a guy who looked a whole lot like my favorite Ken
OMG A*Teens & Britney & S Club 7!! I was SOOOO there too!! :D:D:D Hahahahaha! I actually still have a-teens on my ipod & listen to it!! lol
Other than the previously mentioned ^^ I was a HUGE Backstreet Boys fan. I worshipped them. Also, there was N*Sync [I still can't believe Justin Timberlake used to be a part of that and is still famous]...SPICE GIRLS...Aaron Carter! This list could go on for a while...I actually have a playlist on my ipod right now called "Childhood Memories" with a bunch of stuff that I used to listen to. Haha

It's funny, I haven't even heard of most of the songs you all have mentioned.
My parents don't and didn't listen to contemporary stuff, really, so I grew up with pretty unknown tunes around...whoever said the Donut Man made me laugh, we used to watch that all the time!
For me there was Rick Charette, a children's singer from my area. I still like to listen to the old tapes, and genuinely think that many of his songs written for kids are better than the songs out there for adults.
And then there was classical. I was weaned on Rachmaninov and Bach.

lets see...
The Hamster Dance... for sure. Always a fave
Back Street Boys... i didn't really like them, but hearing one of their songs reminds me of eating ice cream in the park at age 7 or 8
Britney Spears and Christina Aguliera, me and my best friend always enjoyed bashing their clothing, or lack of... and their music.
Mambo Number 5 or whatever it was... I always wondered(and still do), what happened to the others Mambos...

And here I thought I was the only one who remembered the Donut Man.
I forgot to mention that I lived on a steady diet of Disney from about age 4 on. So I still know 99% of the lyrics to most of the classic animated movies now.
