My musical taste is very diverse, but I've loved rock all of my life and always will. :)

I also enjoy the other genres listed here. If it's good, it's good. It doesn't matter what box it comes in. :p

Good outlook! I dabble in a little bit of other stuff too, a little classic rock, a little Dean Martin, a little classical, but mostly country.

+1 for metal. Folk would also be my second option... then classical or classic rock. Or maybe disco. Why isn't that on the list?? ;)

Sorry Haldir, but I cannot picture you listening to disco

I listen to country mostly, but I like lots of other different kinds of music. I like folk, 50's style, (some) rap, classical, rock, etc. I would say that I like most types of music, with country, specifically Texas country, my favorite.

Right now, any jazz or r&b influenced asian pop, really. And I'm particularly obsessed with Korean and Chinese ballads, atm. Oh, and trot! Apparently trot is 'old people music', but if so, I think the old people in Korea must be a lot of fun.

I listen mainly to metal: folk metal, viking metal, pirate metal (Alestorm *heart*), melodic death metal. But I also listen to a lot of medevial, celtic, rock, pagan, ambient.

I must say that my music taste changed drastically in the last few months.

^ I'm into black (hate depressive black metal though), viking, folk, thrash, some grind, certain types of death metal, a lot of symphonic... but I absolutely *beep* hate pirate metal. Can't stand it at all. I hate Alestorm. Swashbuckle I can somewhat stand though. I also hate power metal, core metal, doom metal, and I'm not too big on melodic death at all.

INB4 someone comes in to "remind" me for the 700000th time that I used to like Alestorm. :eyeroll: Yeah, no.

Very nice taste you've got there. Alestorm are indeed made of win! My favorite metal sub-genres are folk, symphonic, viking, melodic death, black and power metal. Just anything epic really. Basically anything that Warrior Radio would play.

I don't care for the elitism that exist among some metalheads though, that you "shouldn't" listen to certain sub-genres or certain bands to be a true metalhead. That's just a load of pish. If I like it, I'll listen to it.

Apart from metal, I love listening to folk music (like Loreena McKennitt), renaissance-inspired folk-rock (like Blackmore's Night) and world/new age (like Adiemus or Enya). And soundtracks. I LOVE movie scores.

Enya is one of my favorite singers ^^ I listen her since childhood, I fell in love with her, not even knowing who she is.

I love also Mediaeval Baebes, especially their Mirabilis album.

Aye, I too fell in love with Enya's music when I was little. Orinoco Flow was the first song I heard. Though, I thought it was called Sail Away for the longest time, hehe. And I thought Book Of Days was called Far And Away. That's what happened when there was no Internet back then.

Haha! Me too! I was sure that it's Sail Away :-D Until my mum told me that it's Orinoco Flow ^^

Isn't that mindset kinda archaic? I get bashed on by my friends constantly for hating Alestorm and liking, say... Dimmu Borgir. And it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I don't know why some people take others' tastes so personally.

;)

But...how bad the person had to be to not like Dimmu Borgir ;)

I don't judge people by music, usually I just walk by. My best friend loves Britney Spears and I am fine with it, even if I don't listen to her and I don't like her. And what is to be TRUE metalhead? I just listen to my music.
