Ok, this has only a little bit to do with celtic music...but I'm excited about it!
Yesterday, I auditioned for my school's choir, and the director asked me to sing just one of my favourite songs, so I sang a celtic one, 'Be Thou My Vision'. After I sang it, he said, "So you like celtic music?"
I said, "Yes, that's basically all I listen to." and he replies,
"Well, I'm planning a Celtic themed concert in the spring with some Spanish musicians I know (he lived for a while in Spain) You know the northern coast of Spain is very celtic"
and I replied, "Yes, you mean Galicia (because Galicia is the Celtic region in Spain)." And he said, "Oh, so you do know..."
So now I'm uber-excited about choir! And someone told me the choir might be touring in Spain also! yay!

That's so awesome Vikingmaiden! So...Lucky! That's so cool that the choir travels and sings! And to Europe! Bah, I wish I could sing! 
So, Loreena McKennitt is coming out with a new cd this autumn! She has an ecard (with some music from it playing ) on her website http://www.quinlanroad.com/ It's pretty nifty! I'm excited! Yay!

Great, I'll keep a lookout for it.
Anyone like the soundtrack from Braveheart? That's got a lot of nice celtic-style music...it's what I'm listening to now

Which version of the soundtrack do you own Vikingmaiden? I have the one where there isn't that much music from the movie rather sound clips and bagpipe band music....  Don't get me wrong there are a few songs from the movie on there, I love the music! It's so pretty....

Have you heard of the "Boys of the Lough"? I really like them, they greatly remind me of the Chieftains....
OH, and now I'm going to promote a band I know from Portland (I took bagpipe lessons from the piper during a bagpipe band camp) Wonderful group called "Raven" my favorite cd by them is called "Indoor Driving"

Also, there is another band with the name "Raven" some, british metal group or something....there not the same...
