Did anyone else watch it? It was awesome, particularly the Apocalyptica part (oh yeah guess why  ). Songs were catchy, not my type of music at all but I did like watching the whole show.

Some comments (I can't remember everything, I wasn't exactly sober last night lol)

Ukraine - lololol I though they were going swimming or something similar .. song was okay though
Bulgaria - this was the drums one right? The girl was a good drummer but awful singer
Turkey - very intellectual lyrics. [/sarcasm]
Ireland - I adored her voice but she seemed so plain, soulless..
Czech Rep. - pity they didn't make it to the finals!
Sweden - so much for sexy Vikings. I spent half the time guessing his sex, sorry!
Slovenia - we sent the very right girl, shame we were 15th! Has to be the dancing o.O
Serbia - AWESOME song. Marija, zakon si!

www.youtube.com - find the songs, you know you wanna!

Hey! This was a song from our folklor!Do you know how hard is that for singing! To be able to sing a song of ours you must have a voice like hers!

About the others I agree!(specially for Sweden!:P)

LOL yeah Ola Salo (singer from The Ark - the Swedish band) is bisexual to he tends to be a little transgender sometimes :teehee: They are a glamrock band though so they always go over the top with everything. They're good fun though.

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Serbia's entry. It so deserved to win. Such an awesome powerful ballad.

Ukraine was... yeah I don't know what that was lol

I didn't get to see Apocalyptica! Stupid Icelandic network decided to go on commercial during the intermission :annoyed: But my parents at home taped the whole show so I'll get to see them when I go back home to Sweden.

I really enjoyed Moldova's entry (the last of the show for the Finals). Really cool rock-ish anthem!

I actually hated the female Irish singer's voice. I loved the melody but thought she ruined ithe song with her voice, and she was a half note off-key throughout the whole song :p

Bulgaria had cool drums and a cool singer but I thought the song lacked in the melody department. I usually LOVE folklore inspired music (heck, that's one of my favorite genres) but this one felt like the same notes were on repeat. It just didn't speak to me. Neither did Georgia's entry (which I felt was somewhat similar).

I'm really happy a non-English song won. The entries sound SO much better performed in the native language of the country. Not since 1998 has a song performed in a foreign language won so this is really awesome :D

I thought the singer from the Swedish entry was hot. Really very pretty and well...yeah lol I liked him. The song was groovy too in a T-Rex glam rock sorta way.

I really liked Finlands entry as well.

Don't even get me started on Scooch...wow..just...wow.

That all being said, I didn't pay that much attention to it this year.
lol

as a brit, i fail to understand why we must humiliate ourselves year after year by sending the worst entries imaginable. i refuse to watch anymore, it's so painful. several people have suggested that we send bill bailey as our entry next year, and i wholeheartedly agree - there's a man we could be proud of.

Bill Bailey
FTW!!

That would be the greatest entry ever in the history of Eurovision and nothing could ever top it.

I've just been watching it fragmented over the internet, so I'll probably make a total ass of myself now. Enjoy. :P

*Has no idea who Bill Bailey is... Does a YouTube search*

I'm not even on the same continent, and I was cringing for you... Whoever chooses your acts needs to be told that a flight attendant theme is not attractive. EVER.

The guys from Spain were cute, even though they reminded me of the Backstreet Boys a little too much.

Ukraine: I'm not sure I can even comment on their entry. Even though I was a bit frightened, I ended up playing it about five times in a row. :P

Bulgaria: I LOVED this one too. It was so original.

Moldova: This one was a nice, darker contrast to all of the pop.

Finland: FABULOUS. LOVED IT.

Switzerland: This was odd. Subtract the chorus and it would have been tolerable, but her, the bad writing, and the guy with the golden mohawk killed it.

Sweden: He reminded me of a combination of the lead singers of AFI and Lostprophets, except happier and asexual.

More reviews as I get time to watch more. ;)

i don't know what your search turned up, but this is why i believe the wonderfully random and brilliantly funny bil bailey should represent us:

yeah, whoever thought that was a good idea must be shot NOW.

actually, i had another idea for a possible entry - the blond guy in scooch did this programme last year where him and two other failed male popstars were challenged to form a girl band. the results were...interesting, and they'd have made a better entry than scooch:

It's such a shame too that the UK never send any good entries anymore. You guys used to be so good, what ever happened?

Fweeee thank you Elfeh-pooh  I'll go watch it right now :D

I only watched the show half as I was busy when it was on, but I like a lot of the entries more than I usually do. And I loved the 'post cards' from Finland, what a beautiful country! Let me go there!!!

I didn't pay much attention to the Serbian song, but I didn't like how one of the chorus girls showed off the Serb sign with her hand when they won, since it apparently is offensive to people on the Balkans.

Anyway, let me join the chorus: What went wrong with the English entry and why did Ireland go all... ehh... Irish... like that!

My favourites:
Finland - Nice voice and a chorus that got stuck in my head in a good way. :-D

Hungary - Great singer and you could tell she knew how to sing great in a live performance (unlike some others...). When I watched the video for the song I didn't get the same feeling as it was when it was live.

Eire - Yay! Not the best singer ever, but the music = :) How about Loreena next year?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6V4kzM5Yos

Moldova - Great song, but I think it would've been much better if she had sung it in Moldovan/Russian/Romanian because her English wasn't that great.

Serbia - My favourite song of the lot, but I missed some of her lighter notes that I heard in the Serbian live video thing. :( But I think it really deserved the win!

I absolutely agree with all of the above statements. Especially on sending Loreena McKennitt next year :D

I'm part of the old-school Eurovision fanbase who preferred it when there was live orchestra and all entries were performed in the native language of the country. All songs lose their charm when performed in English (unless that entry is from an English speaking country that is).

By the way; jag är också svensk :D
