Well, I like christian music, but the only concerts I've been to were the ones I was singing at. I sing in a so called Cantorey, a huge church choir, and we sing stuff like Mangold's Abraham, Carl Orff's Carmina Burana,Carl Loewe's Hiob, lots of Bach's works, Rheinberger and stuff like that. Rheinberger is one of my fav. christian composers.

2 people in my church came our youth group last night and they played and talked about Bluegrass music. It's kind of mostly Christian, type of folk music and I really loved the songs that they sang. Appartly quite a lot of the music in the film O Brother Where Art Thou was that kind of music.

Bluegrass is the best Unfortunately, when I saw O Brother several years ago I didn't really appreciate the music, but yes, it is bluegrass. Do you know what bluegrass groups they talked to you about?

As far as I can remeber they didn't mention any names of groups. And I can't remember the name of their group, though I doubt you'd have heard of it anyway
I'd heard of the name bluegrass before but I never knew what it sound like. I should really watch that film now.

Anymore if I listen to Christian music, it is usually rock or rock/pop.
I cannot stand the christian screamer bands anymore because I realized that when they are just screaming in their music to sound 'cool' then it is as "vain babblings" in my opinion. However, I have surprized myself. The one thing that I disliked is rap. But guess which artist has the best message in his songs?!?!?! KJ-52, christian rap artist. I have found few groups or bands or artists that can match him for message.
There are also several artists, bands, etc. who should be carefully considered before you call them Christian, with regard to message. (Amy grant, P.O.D., and a few others.)
And there are some who it is becoming routine to them, such as Sonic Flood. (I went to a concert in Idaho, Valleyjam '05) they were there. The music sounded ok, the drummer was scary, but thats alright. Then the music stopped and we thought that they would do a salvation message, as they should have, and would have been cool. But much to our dissapointment, they passed out brochures, and talked about a certain 'adopt-a-child' program. That is probably a great program, but they said, and I quote: "When you adopt a child, it seems like a little bit of your selfishness goes away..."
(Crickets chirping.) Ok. so how many do I have to adopt to get rid of my selfishness? 'I can pay to get rid of my selfishness?' Kind of sad, because it is a symptom of what is wrong with most of the people who call themselves 'christians' in America anymore.
Sorry, if that seemed to be a rant, I am actually chuckling when I say that.
Everything I write turns out to be a short essay. He He!
Most of the bands that call themselves christian, usually are. There are some taht have good messages, and sound, and others that have bad sound and good messages. Most of your choices are good ones.
(I like Relient K, Fusebox, Tod Agnew, casting crowns, and others.

I never really listened to Christian music until a few days ago when I went to the National Catholic Youth Conference in Atlanta Georgia. There I found an awesome christian band called Cheer Up Charlie...and they sorta got me listening to some christian music now

Idaho 4-H Guy, I don't want to start a fight or anything, I'd just like to hear your reasons for why you said people should carefully consider P.O.D. before you call them Christian? (Amy Grant, I understand) You can just PM me if you want. I just want to hear your reasons. My sister is a huge P.O.D. fan, so I've heard a lot of their music, and never found anything that contradicted the Bible in their lyrics.

I went to a Switchfoot concert! I like their song "politicians". They're kinda going mainstream, though. And I just found that there's Christian Electronic artists! Ultrabeat is probably the best.

I like Third Day and Delirious...but I'm not really able to get a lot of Christian music, since there's practically none of it at the library and you have to buy it from a Christian store. Third Day is probably my favourite. I haven't heard of a lot of the other bands people have mentioned--well, I've heard of them, but not actually heard their music, is what I'm saying.
