I just discovered this one man band this afternoon, and I've only actually heard one song by him, but it was amazing.

He's one of those Harry Potter-inspired bands ("Wizard Rock"), and the song I've heard so far, "Open at the Close", is spectacular!!

If you're a fan of HP or if you just feel like checking out some good music, find the song :D

Here's a Deathly Hallows video (SPOILER WARNING) that uses the song ;) It's an amazing video, too, so watch it!

http://youtube.com/watch?v=DIYk81Deek0

Note: It is sad too :( But if you've read Deathly Hallows...you know how it all ends.

I love Wizard Rock. 8) I've never listened to Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls, however I am a big fan of Harry and the Potters, The Remus Lupins, and The Mudbloods. I shall most definitely watch the video you posted though. There really is some ace HP music out there, and I'm always looking for new bands to latch onto. :P

For Wizard Rock, that was actually pretty decent. Now, I've never been able to listen to Harry and the Potters and the rest of the lot with a straight face, but I can almost see this on my iPod.

I have to say, before I found this song, I had never listened to any Wizard Rock either. But this song is just plain amazing. It makes makes me cry and I didn't even cry at all in the 7th book!

However, when you combine the video AND the song...*sobs*...lol. :P

I've heard of the genre Wizard Rock but i've never listened to any.

but that was, by far, the best HP: DH video/song i've seen/heard.

i cried.
then i called kellie.
and she cried.
then we watched it together.
and we both cried.

i'm just one big sob story.

and yes. i did cry while reading the book.
</3 i'm a mess.

Wow, how have you two avoided it so long? I have friends at school who have been to Wizard Rock concerts all over the country and constantly wear their t-shirts, listen to them, etc.

I can't say I was much moved by the video... If it had been all about Fred maybe I'd be saying something different. *Sniffle*

I'm with you, tim, I can't listen to Harry and the Potters with a straight face either, but I do appreciate the genre they started. I love Wizard rock! I'm trying to get my family to start a band. :P It amazes me, if I can say this without being too rude, how many really popular Wizard rock bands are completely devoid of any singing ability whatsoever! Like, they can't carry a tune in a bucket! There are some really great bands though. I'll try this video.

ETA-
Omigosh, I feel like such a sop, but it actually made me cry, too! I didn't expect that at all.
This is my new favorite band. They're fantastic!

@Inwe & Nienor - I told you!! :P Hahahaha...no worries, I cried too :teehee:

@timx4 - Well, I've heard of Wizard Rock in general for a couple years now, but I've just never listened to it :teehee: I didn't realize they have...concerts...of it though! LOL I guess I'm just really ignorant

Oh my, I've never heard anything that good in Wizard Rock!! Really, really high quality, this guy is. I really love the song "End of an Era." Beautiful.

Thanks for sharing Gilraen!
