for me, definitely augustana and the goo goo dolls. two amazing bands, and they both had great...energy? interaction? charisma? something.

so what about you guys? what was your best/favorite concert experience?

This is a difficult question as I've been going to live shows for nearly 16 years.

Slayer - Anytime I've seen them live they never EVER fail to give a fantastically brutal show.

Machine Head - See above

Suicidal Tendencies - Both times I've seen them, they put 110% live.

Amon Amarth - No messing about, just get out there do there stuff and like when I saw them support Dimmu Borgir, have the crowd so much in the palm of there hands, the fans were BEGGING for them to keep playing. Now that's something I don't think I've ever seen from any support band. No matter how good.

Tough, very tough.

Muse and Cold War Kids - Well, Muse is AMAZING live and were definitely complimented by the fact that they had a sold out Madison Square Garden Arena practically in a riot.

The Weakerthans - It was a much more intimate experience in a little theater in Pittsburgh, and I was in the very front row directly in front of the singer's microphone. :D I often tell people that The Weakerthans "sing the soundtrack to my life" so it was a particularly magical night.

Rusted Root - A free concert held on one of the big lawns up on campus. It was cold and pouring rain, which didn't matter because I was dancing like an idiot to songs I've loved for as long as I can remember (Literally. The first CD we owned of theirs was bought when I was two).

manic street preachers, at my university union. the band were amazing; it was a great atmosphere; and it was the first time they performed rendition live, which was pretty cool.

bob dylan was awesome, too. the guy is such a legend - i couldn't quite believe i was actually seeing him in the flesh. being that close to someone i admire so much was amazing, and hearing all along the watchtower live was just incredible.

First of all... You've seen Augustana and The Goo Goo Dolls live?! So lucky! I love them.

Lets see... I think my favorite concert experiance was seeing Muse last fall. They were so amazing live... their music sounded so good, alot of bands sound lousy live.

Another concert that was really awesome was seeing a bunch of Christain punk/pop bands just before Christmas this year (or, should I say last year). The music wasn't very good, but the whole atmosphere was fun and upbeat. Plus, Christmas music played punk-style is hilariously amazing!

a couple of guys at my high school once did a punk version of away in a manger, and it was possibly the most amazing thing i've ever heard. it sounded brilliant in rehearsal, but then when it came to the actual performance the mikes and the guitar amp cut out so it just turned into a drum solo, but that was possibly even more incredible because the drummer was absolutely phenomenal.

Nightwish about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Just because Anette likes to kiss guys on stage.

They were so good with Tarja, when I saw them. But I'm really looking foward to seeing them with Anette.
Only another 10 weeks or so gaah.

This is really hard...

Nightwish - Last concert with Tarja on Hartwall Arena

Sentenced - I saw them twice in 2005. Knowing it's gonna be the last time you see them made it kinda special

Children of Bodom - February 2005. The concert was awesome, as usually, and I shaked hands with Henkka

well, I haven't been to that many concerts, but when I saw Switchfoot in concert, it was pretty. darn. AMAZING.

Jon Foreman, the lead singer, was so into the fans! He ran off the stage through the crowd for at least 5 minutes (I touched him! :swoon:), and later he climbed the light-holder-apparatus things! :teehee: Not to mention amazing music!

Hmm... this one is tough...

Trans-Siberian Orchestra- They are sooo awesome. It would be even better if the arena we were in had better acoustics. =]

Winter Jam- A mixture of different Christian Bands that rock my socks. <33 They were pretty amazing. And i was really looking forward to seeing the people that were there. =]]]

I'd LOVE to see the TSO live. I've seen clips of their performances, and it'd be so much fun. :P

And I'd LOOOOOOVE to see Muse perform live. Sadly, I doubt that'll ever happen. XD

Anyway, the best concert experience for me would have to be tied between two concerts.

The Rolling Stones - Damn. They just KNOW how to put on a show. At the age they are, you'd think it'd be toned down. :P But their energy was phenomenal -- as was the music. They just engaged the audience and had a great time.
And if an outdoor concert can hold off the rain until after the concert has ended, I think that's a sign at how amazing it was. ;)

Michael Buble - Well, I saw him on my birthday, which gives him extra points. ;) But he has a MAGNIFICENT stage presence. Very much like Frank Sinatra. He always had a conversation going with the audience, interacted with us (he spent like 20 minuts mingling with us). :P It wasn't like he was performing to a huge audience in some massive stadium -- it was like he was performing in a small club. I suggest anyone who can, to see him. Great music and great fun. :)

I pretty much LOVED the Casting Crowns concert and I also enjoyed Winter Jam '07--it was AMAZING!
