Japanese Pop. Anyone? My favorite Artists would have to be Utada Hikaru and Koda Kumi. ^_^ Though I don't speak Japanese..and have no idea what they're saying, but nevertheless, I LOVE it.
...so! anyone else?

I'm a really big fan of anime music... but the latest song on my playlist is "Hikari" by Se7en. It's such a good song but I have no idea what he's saying! xD

I'm really beginning to like anime music too. And Arashi's become an absolute obsession.

If there's one thing I hate more than anything in the world, it's J-Pop. The lyrics are ridiculous, they ALL sound the same (and are all really about nearly the same things) the singers sound like they're crying and whining at the same time, and my ears just bleed all different colours whenever I hear it.

No way! I disagree against your post totally!
The lyrics and each song are different each time. Please, if you dont like Jpop, dont come hear and bash it. thanks.
Hm...I havent heard much Jrock or metal. I've only really heard Jpop before.

If you're into rock/metal I'd recommend Dir en grey (my personal fave ). The GazettE, X Japan, An Cafe (see Antic), Pierrot, Alice Nine, High and Mighty Colour (female vocals), L'Arc~en~Ciel (and singer Hyde's solo work) and Gackt.
That's just a few off the top of my head.

What? This forum and topic is free for everyone to comment in, and you can't ask me to stop. It's not like your topic is titled "I love J-pop!"
Didn't you say that you had no idea what they're saying because you don't understand Japanese? Then how can you say that the lyrics are different each time? I can say that they sound the same, because they do... but I'm not bashing it, I'm just saying what I think about it, and that's fine, k?
J-metal and rock is alright... I'm not a fan of it (Celtic music is more for me), and I don't know anything about it, but I don't mind it at all. It's really catchy

Lol, why do you need forgiving? I wasn't upset, and you didn't offend me.
Oh, well if you read the English translation, it means you do have an idea what they're saying

Oh, ok. Because I thought you were a little angry at me. Because people usually are.

I'm glad you revived this thread! I like J-pop, J-rock, and J-metal, and I've even listened to the new Utada Hikaru song.
Though she isn't my favorite artist of that genre; I like (let me try and remember a few): Porno Graffitti, Two-Mix, Gackt, D'espairs Ray, Moi dix Mois, Malice Mizer, Asian Kung Fu Generation, FictionJunction Yuuka, L'arc~en~ciel, hyde, See-Saw, Miyavi, Luna Sea, Cool Joke, Utada Hikaru, Yellow Generation, Nami Tanaki, T.M. Revolution, etc.
I also like anime themes, like A Cruel Angel's Thesis from Evangelion, Shinkai no Kodoku from Gundam Seed Destiny, Byakuya True Light from D.N. Angel, the ones from Gundam Wing, etc.
I don't know if (for example) Suteki Da Ne from Final Fantasy X counts as J- pop ... it's certainly in Japanese, but 'pop'? Maybe some of the music I like isn't exactly J- pop... I don't know how to tell, though.

No, I dont think Suteki Da Ne would be classified as pop. xD
I loove the person's voice who sings it! She has such a lovely voice. Um..Ritsuki Nakano. yeah! Thats it. I know she sings another FF song. Um..Pure Heart, Aerith's Theme. That one's lovely too.

I like J-rock... The bands I have on my iPod are Phantasmagoria (<3), NightmaRe, Dir En Grey, Hyde, and Malice Mizer.
