Time has come today Young hearts can go their way Can't put it off another day I don't care what others say They say we don't listen anyway Time has come today (Hey) Oh The rules have changed today (Hey) I have no place to stay (Hey) I'm thinking about the subway (Hey) My love has flown away (Hey) My tears have come and gone (Hey) Oh my Lord, I have to roam (Hey) I have no home (Hey) I have no home (Hey) Now the time has come (Time) There's no place to run (Time) I might get burned up by the sun (Time) But I had my fun (Time) I've been loved and put aside (Time) I've been crushed by the tumbling tide (Time) And my soul has been psychedelicized (Time) (Time) Now the time has come (Time) There are things to realize (Time) Time has come today (Time) Time has come today (Time) Time Time Time Time Time Time Time Time Time Time Time Oh Now the time has come (Time) There's no place to run (Time) I might get burned up by the sun (Time) But I had my fun (Time) I've been loved and put aside (Time) I've been crushed by tumbling tide (Time) And my soul has been psychedelicized (Time) (Time) Now the time has come (Time) There are things to realize (Time) Time has come today (Time) Time has come today (Time) Time Time Time Time Yeah |

Ramblin' Fever By Merle Haggard My hat don't hang on the same nail too long My ears can't stand to hear the same old song An' I don't leave the highway long enough to bog down in the mud 'cause I've got ramblin' fever in my blood I caught this ramblin' fever long ago When I first heard a lonesome whistle blow If someone said I ever gave a damn, the damn sure told you wrong I've had ramblin' fever all along Ramblin' fever The kind that can't be measured by degrees Ramblin' fever There ain't no kind of cure for my disease There's times I'd like to bed down on a sofa And let some pretty lady rub my back And spend the early morning drinking coffee And talkin' about when I'll be coming back 'cause I don't let no no woman tie me down And I'll never get too old to get around I want to die along the highway and rot away like some old high-line pole Rest this ramblin' fever in my soul Ramblin' fever The kind that can't be measured by degrees Ramblin' fever There ain't no kind of cure for my disease, yeah |

2000 Light Years From Home Sun turnin' 'round with graceful motion We're setting off with soft explosion Bound for a star with fiery oceans It's so very lonely, you're a hundred light years from home Freezing red deserts turn to dark Energy here in every part It's so very lonely, you're six hundred light years from home It's so very lonely, you're a thousand light years from home It's so very lonely, you're a thousand light years from home Bell flight fourteen you now can land Seen you on Aldebaran, safe on the green desert sand It's so very lonely, you're two thousand light years from home It's so very lonely, you're two thousand light years from home |

I've Always Been Crazy Waylon Jennings I've always been crazy and the trouble that it's put me through I've been busted for things that I did, and I didn't do I can't say I'm proud of all of the things that I've done But I can say I've never intentionally hurt anyone I've always been different with one foot over the line Winding up somewhere one step ahead or behind It ain't been so easy but I guess I shouldn't complain I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane Beautiful lady, are you sure that you understand The chances your taking loving a free living man Are you really sure, you really want what you see Be careful of something that's just what you want it to be I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane Nobody knows if it's something to bless or to blame So far I ain't found a rhyme or a reason to change I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane Songwriters: Waylon Jennings I've Always Been Crazy lyrics © Kobalt Music Publishing Ltd. |

Four Strong Winds Four strong winds that blow lowly, Seven seas that run high, All those things that don't change, Come what may. but our good times are all gone, And I'm bound for moving on. I'll look for you if I'm ever back this way. Think I'll go out to Alberta, Weather's good there in the fall. I got some friends that I can go a'working for, Still I wish you'd change your mind If I asked you one more time, But we've been through that a hundred times or more. Four strong winds that blow lowly, Seven seas that run high, All those things that don't change, Come what may. but our good times are all gone, And I'm bound for moving on. I'll look for you if I'm ever back this way. If I get there before the snow flies, And if things are looking good, You could meet me if I send you down the fare. But by then it would be winter there ain't much for you to do And the winds sure can blow cold way out there Four strong winds that blow lonely, Seven seas that run high, All those things that don't change, Come what may. but our good times are all gone, And I'm bound for moving on. I'll look for you if I'm ever back this way. Written by Ian Tyson and sung by many, I like Neil Young's version the best. |

Shadows by Woodland Shadows, shadows dance away the fire, from summer green to fallen leaves, oh light the sylvan pyre; for the day is red and ripe upon the branch, leaves of autumn turn to gold, shadows, shadows dance away the fire. For there is a summer in each life, until the shadows ride the samhain wind, to a twilight celebration; and there is a shadow to each light, a dusk to every morning spring, to a seasons celebration in the dark. Shadows, shadows wash away our pain, feel the harvest hour of letting go, ‘til the hearth’s alight again; for the night is sweet and ripe upon the vine, she seeds dreams within her herbs, and ancient grains of wisdom in her wine. For there is a winter in each life, ‘til springtime blooms carry us, to a maidens celebration; and there is a fire in each night, a sleep unto awakening, to a seasons celebration in the light. Shadows, shadows carry us to rest, to roots of willow and beds of stone, to hillsides where our ashes are blown. Time, time, dance away the cold, feel the starlight in the wintery hood, the summers gift, the fire in the wood. For there is a season to each life, a hope for sorrow and despair, shadows, shadows dance away the fire. For there is a season to each life, a gift of joy for every pain, to a season’s celebration in the heart. |

Come Heavy Sleep by Die Verbannten Kinder Evas Come heavy sleep, the image of true death And close up these my - my weary weeping eyes Whose spring of tears doth stop my vital breath And tears my heart with sorrows sight swoll'n cries Come heavy sleep you're and old friend to me Take my hand, lead me to those places I've never been Where all fear and sadness are not real And live's so much pleasure I'll be by your side, please don't take me away Let me feel this delight till eternity wakes me up Never be in solitude again And no dark tomorrow... |

Been singing this all day, thanks to listening to the late Pete Seeger singing it on one of my Spotify lists. When I was a little girl I wished I was a boy I tagged along behind the gang and wore my corduroys. Everybody said I only did it to annoy But I was gonna be an engineer. Mamma said, "Why can't you be a lady? Your duty is to make me the mother of a pearl Wait until you're older, dear And maybe you'll be glad that you're a girl. Dainty as a Dresden statue, gentle as a Jersey cow, Smooth as silk, gives cream and milk Learn to coo, learn to moo That's what you do to be a lady, now. When I went to school I learned to write and how to read History, geography and home economy And typing is a skill that every girl is sure to need To while away the extra time until the time to breed And then they had the nerve to ask, what would I like to be? I says, "I'm gonna be an engineer!" "No, you only need to learn to be a lady The duty isn't yours, for to try to run the world An engineer could never have a baby Remember, dear, that you're a girl" She's smart, for a woman. I wonder how she got that way? You get no choice, you get no voice Just stay mum, pretend you're dumb. That's how you come to be a lady, today. Well, I started as a typist but I studied on the sly Working out the day and night so I could qualify And every time the boss came in, he pinched me on the thigh Said, "I've never had an engineer!" "You owe it to the job to be a lady The duty of the staff is to give the boss a whirl The wages that you get are crummy, maybe But it's all you get, 'cause you're a girl" Then Jimmy came along and we set up a conjugation We were busy every night with loving recreation I spent my days at work so he could get an education And now he's an engineer! He said: "I know you'll always be a lady The duty of my darling is to love me all her life Could an engineer look after or obey me? Remember, dear, that you're my wife!" As soon a Jimmy got a job, I studied hard again Then busy at me turret-lathe a year or two, and then The morning that the twins were born, Jimmy says to them "Your mother was an engineer!" "You owe it to the kids to be a lady Dainty as a dish-rag, faithful as a chow Stay at home, you got to mind the baby Remember you're a mother now!" Every time I turn around there's something else to do Cook a meal or mend a sock or sweep a floor or two Listening to Jimmy Young, it makes me want to spew I was gonna be an engineer. I only wish that I could be a lady I'd do the lovely things that a lady's supposed to do I wouldn't even mind if only they would pay me Then I could be a person too. What price for a woman? You can buy her for a ring of gold, To love and obey, without any pay, You get a cook and a nurse for better or worse You don't need a purse when a lady is sold. Oh, but now the times are harder and me Jimmy's got the sack; I went down to Vicker's, they were glad to have me back. But I'm a third-class citizen, my wages tell me that But I'm a first-class engineer! The boss he says "We pay you as a lady, You only got the job because I can't afford a man, With you I keep the profits high as may be, You're just a cheaper pair of hands." You got one fault, you're a woman You're not worth the equal pay. A *beep* or a tart, you're nothing but heart, Shallow and vain, you've got no brain, Well, I listened to my mother and I joined a typing pool Listened to my lover and I put him through his school If I listen to the boss, I'm just a bloody fool And an underpaid engineer. I been a sucker ever since I was a baby As a daughter, as a mother, as a lover, as a dear But I'll fight them as a woman, not a lady I'll fight them as an engineer! - Written by Peggy Seeger |

I was driving and this song came on and it had Lord of the Rings mentions. I was shocked as it played, (I almost wrecked my car : / ) Anyway I don't know how I have never herd it before. Ramble On by Led Zeppelin Leaves are falling all around It's time I was on my way Thanks to you I'm much obliged For such a pleasant stay But now it's time for me to go The autumn moon lights my way For now I smell the rain And with it pain And it's headed my way Ah, sometimes I grow so tired But I know I've got one thing I got to do Ramble on And now's the time, the time is now To sing my song I'm goin' 'round the world, I got to find my girl On my way I've been this way ten years to the day Ramble on Gotta find the queen of all my dreams Got no time for spreadin' roots The time has come to be gone And thoough our health we drank a thousand times It's time to ramble on Ramble on And now's the time, the time is now To sing my song I'm going 'round the world, I got to find my girl On my way I've been this way ten years to the day I gotta ramble on I gotta find the queen of all my dreams I ain't tellin' no lie Mine's a tale that can't be told My freedom I hold dear How years ago in days of old When magic filled the air 'T was in the darkest depths of Mordor I met a girl so fair But Gollum, and the evil one Crept up and slipped away with her Her, her, yeah Ain't nothing I can do, no I guess I keep on rambling I'm gonna, yeah, yeah, yeah Sing my song (I gotta find my baby) I gotta ramble on, sing my song Gotta work my way around the world baby, baby Ramble on, yeah Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, my baby Doo, doo, doo, doo Doodoo doodoo doodoo doodoo doodoo I gotta keep searching for my baby (Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby) I gotta keep-a-searchin' for my baby (My, my, my, my, my, my, my baby) Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I can't find my bluebird I listen to my bluebird sing I can't find my bluebird I keep rambling, baby I keep rambling, baby |

My verse of the day is "I will continue to dream until the cows come home." The melody is an energetic, helpful hymn about never abandoning your fantasies and proceeding to take a stab at them. The verses advise us that it doesn't make any difference what amount of time it requires or the number of hindrances we that face; we ought to never abandon accomplishing our objectives and dreams. |
