So it's out for real now, and I got to listen to it on a really good sound system last night, and I think I approve.
I didn't listen to anything rock really until Muse came along and practically changed my life.
Just for the record.
It's very different! This is the first tie I've listened to Muse and been able to compare them to other bands. Not sure how I feel about that, but they've certainly established themselves as independent from serious influence in the first six albums.
I miss the countermelodies and guitar and piano solos. though the last tracks on the album MORE than make up for that. I think the clarinet in I Belong to You is fantastic.
Not quite sure what was going through their heads when they wrote Undisclosed Desires, but that's okay! Some people thought that with starlight.
Overall, I give it an A.
