Post subject:  Tribute Bands & Artists

Many bands and artists will do cover songs of other bands and artists, but a Tribute Band is a band whose primary purpose is to try and recreate/mime the original band. I once considered these sorts of bands as uninspired and unoriginal, but there are some really good, dare I say, reproductions' of some great bands out there. A few that I have found and liked are 'Tusk' (Fleetwood Mac), Randy Hansen (Jimi Hendrix), and 'Led Zepplica' (Led Zeppelin).

I found Tusk when I was looking for Fleetwood Mac's 'Chain' for the Breakup/Love Gone Bad thread. In the process, I found a wonderful cover of the song (posted in the 'Cover Song' thread), and Tusk. The lady who takes Stevie Nick's part is really good, and to me seems to be a less drugged clone of her younger self.

Randy Hansen has been channeling Jimi Hendrix since before I first saw him live in 1984.

There are a lot of bands who tribute Led Zeppelin, but Led Zepplica does the look as well as gets the music close to right.
