I know this is old news, but I'm bored and wanted to express how disappointed I was. Honestly, I thought it was one of the WORST VMAs my eyes have seen. No offense to anyone out there, but I have never seen so many performances and so little rock!! Besides the Killers, Green Day, MCR, Fall Out Boy, what other rock was there?...Hmmm, can't think of anything else. Besides, Jimmy Fallon at least makes jokes. All P.Diddy did was act like he normally does--so full of himself. Talking about his name evolution..who cares, I mean really? Tribute to Biggie, but what about Tupac (don't like much rap, but I think Tupac was more "artistic" than Biggie)? Anyways, just say how you felt about it. It's your opinion and you're entitled to say it.

I personally thought Green Day stole the show. The MCR performance was also kick-a$$. The Killers were good.

Kanye West's performance..if I liked rap, I'd think great, but since his music doesn't entertain me, I have to say not for me. I really thought the R. Kelley performance was a big, REPULSIVE show. Waste of my time and life.

I love watching Orlando Bloom!!!

Lol, he's HONESTLY, the real reason I watched it.

Now, fashion. Hmmmm...

Sorry, I like Jessica and all, but I didn't like her wardrobe or hair. I also thought Alicia Keys wasn't looking as good as she can. Gwen looked beautiful, as usual. Ciara looked fine, I guess, except I kept thinking, "wow that dress sure is short" but fashion these days....Billie Joe was Billie Joe. Jay-Z's outfit was nice *of course, I'd prefer it on someone else* And yes, Orlando was my favorite!! He looked clean, simple, but sophisticate!! Orlando was "the spark in the night" lol..some lyric there.

Yeah, that's basically all I have to say..for today.

So give me your opinion. Favorite performance, moment, wardrobe..whatever!! :-D

I think making music a competition is stupid, people who think they are better then one band cos they got an award are pretty aragant. Plus i hate MTV

I don't support MTV, plus the music I listen to wouldn't be at the VMAs or play on MTV either..

OMG, I love watching Wild Boyz and Jackass. Steve-O, Chris, and Johnny Knoxville are so damn funny!!

And I only watch MTV2 usually for the Rock Countdown. I have started watching VH1 more often. Cause I love the old rock videos.

I was going to post a huge rant on here about the VMAs and my feelings towards them. But I thought I'd offend people so I changed my mind.
MTV is nothing but a fashion show. They only push certain bands down your throat. If you're not MTV supported, you're not worth it in there eyes. The VMA's are all about the record companies and Corporations and making profit from there artists. Integrity got tossed aside. That's not what music is all about.
I stopped paying attention to what MTV dictated I listened to a long, long time ago. I listen to independent radio stations that support and play the bands I like.

MTV aren't the sole perpetrators. There are a few other music stations here that are equally guilty but not on the same global scale as MTV is.

I didn't watched them entirely because I got pretty bored.
I didn't like them because It was all about cars and rappers. MTV should change their name to Hip Hop TV because that's all they play.

Does MTV even play videos anymore? Anytime I've channel hopped it's been shows. MTV2 used to be good, but that went wonky too with now the only decent show being 120 Metal Minutes and even then they tend to play the same videos over and over and over again.

I don't have MTV2  but it sounds a little bit better than MTV.
There's a channel that I watch that is called Much Music. My digital cable gets the argentinian version, which plays good music like Nightwish and some other great bands :)

Yeah, I've heard of Much Music. I think it's Canadian, but I'm not 100% sure.
Sounds pretty good.

I don't really support MTV much either. Much less music video awards. Basically all it is is women shaking their *bums* at the screen, rappers with gold plated teeth, ect. I personally think music industry is slowly going down hill. :bones: Not saying I don't like any of today's music (Yay Green Day, MCR, Fall Out Boy, The Killers, Coldplay), but still...

And this is coming from a "target" audience aged person......

LOL, he just presented (along Kirsten Dunst) best rock video. The nominees were (I paid attention here): Weezer, Green Day, Foo Fighters, My Chemical Romance, and I think The Killers or Fall Out Boy.

Course, Green Day won.

And yeah, MTV is SOOO bias. It sucks.

I agree with your choices, Tigging with Dom.[/img]

I agree...I don't like MTV either. :annoyed: They treat women like crap and I just don't get the point of that station. It's called 'Music Television', but they play VERY VERY little music.... :explode:

I didn't watch them, (don't get that channel) but I did see the results. Is there anything 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' didn't win? And where was 'Welcome to my life'? :annoyed: Yeah, 'Untitled' is an awesome video, but 'Welcome to my life' should have been nominated for something... :annoyed2:
