I adore musicals! Being in the city I am in, though, very few ever come here. Having said that, though, I am going to Phantom of the Opera in September! I'm uber excited!!
I love: PotO, Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, Oklahoma, Chicago, King and I, and lots more. My school recently did Dear Edwina, but I had to take Biology, so I couldn't be in it *cries* Oh well, I am starting voice lessons soon, then off to Broadway! Lol

I went to my first Broadway the other night, Phantom of the Opera in New York City and I can tell you know I am obsessed. I never saw my self as a lover of Opera or Musicals of that matter, but watching the play and listening to the sing, the sheer power of the song brought me to tears. I regret only that I did not see a Musical sooner... I am going to plan on seeing a range of them in the next couple of years...

That's all I listen to! Broadway sundtracks, musical soundtracks! I mean 98 percent of the songs on my iPod are either musicals (sound of music, PotO, Moulin Rouge, Chicago) and disney songs!

"Give my regards to Broadway, remember me to Herald Square, tell all the gang at 42nd street, that I will soon be there..."
When I was in drama we watched a history of Broadway, it was kinda interesting to see how it started out. We also watched a bunch of musicals and when we preformed we only did songs from musicals, we never did a whole play. I played Thelma from Chicago on the song "I can't do it alone" and I did a bunch of other stuff, like Annie, Grease, etc. It was a lot of fun.
Anyways I love musicals such as Grease, Phantom of the Opera, Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Annie, Mulan Rouge, etc..
I've never actually been to New York but I did see Phantom of the Opera in London and I assume it was just the same as seeing it in New York. It was very well done, although I didn't like the Phantom's singing voice. Raul in the play sounded exactly like Raul in the movie version of POTO it was strange.

Oh gosh someone asked me that before I can't find the program that I bought with all of the actors names in it . So at the moment I can't remember who played the Phantom.

Musicals are brilliant. Both stage and screen.
I actually never used to like film musicals but they have really grown on me in the last few years. Some of my favourites are:
My Fair Lady
Gigi
The Sound Of Music
Yankee Doodle Dandy
The Phanton Of The Opera
The first stage musical I went to see was Beauty and the Beast the Disney version about three years ago, and I loved it!
And then the amazing occured. About four years ago I saw a made-for-TV production of Andrew Lloyd-Webbers Cats... and I fell in love with it! I wacthed by taped copy if it so many times it no longer played, I then bought the video and watched it so many times it no longer played and now I have the special edition DVD. But best of all, about 2 years ago I got to see Cats live on stage! It was..awesome I'll never forget it.

All of them were awesome.

Oh I really love the Sound of Music. I've only seen the movie adaption with Julie Andrews, but that's great. I love Mary Poppins, too!!

sadly i haven't seen any musicals on broadway, i've had to settle for TV specials, movies, and videos i find online....but oh well, i will eventually go to New York and see some real broadway musicals...hopefully...
with that said, I absolutely LOVE my Wicked CD, the music is amazing and I think the storyline is brilliant. From what I've heard, the show is even better than the CD...

I recently saw the 2005 remake of The Producers and I absolutely LOVED it. It was like a nostalgia trip back to the golden era of all the '30s, '40s and '50s musicals! Amazing
