I only heard like 3 of their songs and I loved all of them. The ones I heard was
1.) Over the Hills. now I have to admit this was my favorite ..tied with Elvenpath
2.) Elvenpath
3.) Higher than Hope

I really like them but I don't know much about them :annoyed: :bye:

It's with rather unfortunate news I have to bring this thread back up.
Tarja has been fired from the band for basic diva behaviour and a whole host of other things.
Check out the two links for more details.

i don't really care too much, but some of the comments about it are intresting like the fact they are trying to make more money out of this by releasing a book

Why would you want someone in the band that doesn't give a rats *expletive deleted* about the fans?

Won't be the same? There's more to Nightwish than Tarja. Tuomas writes all the songs, arranges all the music. She just showed up and sang. She wasn't even into Metal. Nightwish seems to be some sort of vehicle for her solo career, which she seems to care more for.
So no. I don't want her in the band unless she is 100% commited to Nightwish, you know like the other four guys are.

Anyways...here's Tarja's response to it all.

As for the book...that was already in the works..as was the DVD. The title to the dvd is pure irony.

So long as the songs are still as good (which written by Tuomas they will be), and they find a good singer with a similar range - and they are out there- that's all that matters. Tarja was not the be all and end all of Nightwish.

*gets off soapbox*

What????????  I can't believe it!
I once read something about her being diva" and stuff, but I didn't know it was too much that they fired her. She after all, has an amazing voice and I hope that the band will find someone talented with a great voice

Yeah, unfortunately it is true. But you know what? Nightwish will carry on with a new singer and Tarja will have her much wanted solo career. So isn't it better they part now rather than let down more fans with her diva behaviour?

Sure it's a shock and maybe not the best way to have handled the situation. But from what has been said this has been bubbling under the surface for quite some time. Human patience and tolerance can only stretch so far before it snaps. I fully understand the other guys' feelings on the matter.

In a perfect world this could be resolved and we'd all be happy.

I agree with you.

Tuomas sounded very hurt in the letter. All the things he said she did, were horrible to the fans. I felt sorry for him, because I know how it feels when a "friend" changes their attitude and they are no longer the same.

We still have all the music that was made before all this happened as a beautiful memory.
No band split or anything can and ever will take that from us as fans.

Well... it`s sad, but true and now all I can hope is them to find a good singer who has attitude for Nightwish... :annoyed:

^ Exactly.
There are many other female singers out there that can sing just as well as Tarja..and shock, gasp...likes Metal as well.
So long as they are 100% commited to Nightwish and the songs are as good as they always have been. I don't see the problem.

Sadness! I did love her voice...oh well, though, if she was acting like a diva, probably best that they split. I'm sure they'll be able to find another lead singer with an awesome voice.

The whole situation reminds me a bit of the Evanescence/Ben Moody split, except that was for different reasons from what I've heard...

My fav song is..dunno........ I love them all.. My fav CD is "Once" and my fav band member is Emppu Vuorinen. (just becoz he looks a little elflike and therefore reminds me of LOTR) The news that Tarja had to leave the band really confused me, and I'm not sure what to think about it...
