I don't believe I didn't come across this thread before! I LOVE Nightwish!!!! I actually just got over my latest Nightwish-music-obession phase.

I not a big fan of Anette. She's not bad, but Tarja's opera voice is what made Nightwish. It's just not the same...

Tuomas is hot...well all the guys are ^^ even Marco...when he's not being scary... :)

Yayy welcome to the thread! Always great with more Nightwish fans :D

I'm a big fan of Anette (as well as Tarja of course) and personally LOVE how Nightwish are now but I know that she's not pleasing to everyone.

Tuomas is gorgeous... and so is Marco... and Emppu (so adorable!)... and Jukka... and Anette :D

Welcome to the thread Dhamson (it is okay I call you that?)

I have to disagree about Tarja being what made Nightwish. I personally feel it's Tuomas' beautiful music and lyrics are what made Nightwish. As there are other bands out there with operatic female singers and they are nowhere near as popular as Nightwish are. That's not to say I dislike Tarja, I'm a huge fan of her voice. It is beautiful and I love her solo work (her cover of Alice Coopers 'Poison' being the exception :P ) but I love the new stuff with Anette and will support her and the band.

Ah yes the hotness...they're all so gorgeous. But I have to say Marco juuust tips the scales in rawr factor for me. Though I do have a huge crush on Anette too :teehee:

I'd agree with Phoenix there. Tarja isn't what made Nightwish (in my wee humble opinion). Her voice along with the music of Tuomas was the original sound of Nightwish and she will forever be a part of that but I wouldn't credit Nightwish's success on Tarja's voice alone. A band is not a solo act - it's the harmony of all the instruments together. Each plays their part and everyone is as important as the next.

I think Tarja herself thought she was what made Nightwish and that's what got her fired in the end.

Her husband (he who will never be uttered from my lips or even typed out) certainly made her think that moreso.

I do certainly hope that maybe down the line the guys and Tarja can return to being friends. They share a lot of good times and memories, those should never be forgotten.

I really hope so too. They were together for so long. You can really tell how much it hurt Tuomas by reading the lyrics on Dark Passion Play.

Oh yeah same for me too. I have the 2008 Nightwish Calendar and the artwork for this month of April is the Poet and the Pendulum. There's a man lying stretched out and tied down on some stone table with a huge Pendulum swinging over him. Gorgeous stuff!

It's the most beautiful thing ever. The image is in the album artwork for the Poet song but in the calendar it's HUGE plus a little more fiery.

I'll see if I can get around scanning some of the calendar images like I did with the 2007 calendar!

You guys make good points. You got to have the right style and lyrics to make a band good. And you only get that from writing your own stuff. I found that partially determines which bands and singers I listen too.

There's no problem calling me Damson, or any other nickname you want really...
