LOVE nightwish. i have the tarja version of "phantom of the opera" (which i love but my sister hates, being a diehard PotO fan) and all of Dark Passion Play.
fave songs being:

bye bye beautiful (the vid is teh awesomeness)
amaranth
7 days to the wolves
Sahara
meadows of heaven
....basically, most of the album. :P

(by the way, for those of you *ahem phoenix (and antigone?)* who adore folk-metal, "the last of the wilds" totally reminds me of the small amount of korpiklaani i've heard. is that weird?)

The Last of the Wilds does have similarity with some of Korpi's songs yeah. It's gotta be that wild Finnish folk music, eh!

Nightwish's version of Phantom of the Opera is great but being a lifelong (and diehard) fan of the stage musical I cannot help but prefer the original version!

Dark Passion Play is such an epic album. Nightwish's albums are like my babies though. I cannot possibly pick and choose one I love more than the other. Each and every album of theirs is absolutely nothing but spectacular. Each a legend in their own way!

LoL I could talk about Nightwish forever! :)

But for someone who has lived and breathed the Phantom of the Opera since 1993 the NW version just isn't the same. It's wonderful in it's own right... but it's not the same.

I lovw Nightwish sooooo much. The NW Phantom of the Opera version isn't as good as the original (in my own opinion :P) but all of thier songs are utterly amazing. I could listen to them over and over again. My favorite would probably be This Islander, Last of the Wilds, Poet and The Pendulum, or Bye Bye Beautiful, or Eva.

Ahh yes, I like Nightwish. All time favorites of theirs are Sleeping Sun, Over the Hills and Far Away, and Ghost Love Score, both instrumental and other.

Last of the Wilds is very cool.

She's so cool - there's gotta be something about Scandinavian air since they breed so many great singers :blink: (Marco in Salzburg: and they occasionally breed some pretty good vocalists..)

I blame that vid for making me sing the Pippi song all day :D
