A few things: I listened to Edguy for the first time today-not bad, kinda reminds me of Hammerfall. I listened to an American power-metal band 'Cellador'. Surprisingly not bad for a North American, not too mention power, metal band. Finally I listened to a French power Metal band called 'Heavenly', and let me tell you they are amazing. I think their like Christiany metal, but if yes or no, still a good metal band.

I think my love for Edguy is renowned lol.
Tobias has such a fantastic voice, awesome range. If you like them try his other project/band Avantasia.

Oh you should definitely check out Avantasia, they're simply AMAZING! Both of their albums are just... so flippin' awesome!  _________________

hey guys, I'm not going to read the last two pages but I've noticed a lot of talk on Viking metal.... anyone like ensiferum? They're my favorite viking metal band at the moment. Followed closely by Finntroll. (I can't understand a thing they're saying but the music is awesome! WOOT FOR POLKA METAL!)

Yes, Heavenly has christian lyrics and they OWN! But the album Dust to Dust is all about vampires... idk if that one has any christian references. Dont quote me on that though. haha

Hehe, Fintroll are cool. Even though I only heard like 2 songs or such...

btw ppl which metal do you appriciate more? The older or the newest? I mean I support all the older bands yet some new ones are pretty good...

Ah so many questions lol
I LOVE Ensiferum. One of my mates is like there biggest fan lol But Yeah I like em a lot.
Finntroll PWN nuff said. Prefer Korpiklaani though.
Elfe..what Finntroll songs have you heard? You gotta download some more.
Not a fan of CoF at all. Musically they're excellent, but Dani...he really gets under my skin. No offense lol
Older or Newer? Both. I still appreciate lots of the bands I did when I was 15/16..but love discovering new things.

He really bothers me and a lot of people who are seriously into the black metal scene. Because they see him a such a sell out.

A couple of things:
Ensiferum-Excellent band
Finntroll-One of my favourites on the Folk Metal scene (Go Finska!)
Cradle of Filth-I dunno, their ok I guess. I mean I appreciate the fact that it has a sort of...Vampirical sound. Like the Symphonies of Hell, to put it a way. Their creepy, dark, and maintain a symphonic sound. And I just happen to like symphonic metal (the combination of these two 'opposites', if you will, is much like the flame from Muspellheim and ice-drop from Niflheim coming together to create Ymir).
As for what I prefer, oldies or newer sounds, it depends. I like some older stuff-primarily Iron Maiden. And in my younger years I'd listen to older metal (and some into the 90's, like Manson) and grunge. But now that I've progressed into full metaldom, I like the newer sounds. Just the variation, compared to the thrash/power/heavy stuff of the 80's. But like I said, some stuff I do like.
I listened to some Avantasia-their ok. Reminds me of Iron Maiden (which is a good sign), though I wouldn't say on my favourites list (I only did listen to two songs though).
And guys, check out The Rite of Retaliation (if your into Death/Black metal) their an emerging Death Metal band from Croatia (finally!)
