Problem.
Last week on Thursday, we were playing Name That Tune in my geometry class (don't ask), and my teacher played Dirty Little Secret by the All American Rejects, which of course, we all knew.
Now, I don't really like DLS that much. In fact, previously, I hated it. But now, something has happened. I CANNOT stop listening this song. Seriously. And when I'm not listening to it, I'm singing it. I want it OUT! I don't even like the song, but at the same time, I love it. And now I found the video for it (which is AWESOME by the way), so I keep watching it. In fact, I'll probably go and do that again after posting this.
My friend says I'll get tired of it eventually, but in the meantime, I'm going insane.
Anybody else have similar problems? Maybe not with this song, but with any song? And how do you get the blasted things out of your head?
I have to go obsessively watch the Dirty Little Secret video now. Bye.

Yep, with the exact same song. It's the only AAR song I can't listen to, as it gets stuck in my head for days, like you. And if anyone says the name (Like you did) it gets stuck.
Maybe I'll go watch the video again, since you already have me humming it...

Yeah, right now I have this super annoying French Christmas carol stuck in my head. It's been stuck in my head for weeks cause I had to walk around the halls of my high school with my French class singing it the day before Christmas break.... that was really embarrassing. Lol.

bwahaha! DLS STRIKES AGAIN! You are one of millions Tried listening to Move along or some other AAR song? usually that's the only was to get DLS out of my head. ...or u could try Hips Don't Lie...that seems to work for any song...but i think that one is far worse than DLS.
so, try Move Along. It's a good song, good vid, and gets stuck in the head pretty easily

*comes in still singing Dirty Little Secret*
No offense, but I can't stand Move Along. It's too overplayed. It was a good song, until about the fiftieth time I heard it. So, no, that would only be worse.
I guess we all go through this. It isn't the first time it's happened to me, but I think it's probably most severe case I've ever had.
The video IS really good though, so I think I'll post the link so that others can enjoy it. *evil grin*
WARNING: I find this song and this video to be extremely addictive. If you click this link, you could be sentencing yourself to weeks and weeks of obsession with a song you don't even really like. You have been warned.
Bearing all of this in mind, you should definitely watch it anyway.

In case anybody was wondering, the cards that you see the people holding up are from this really interesting community service project called Post Secret. People design a postcard and send in their deepest secrets. I'm pretty sure there's a website for it. I know there's at least one book of them published, and I'm pretty sure there's two out now. just in case anybody was curious/interested.
Now, I'm going to watch the video one more time for the day. *sighs*
I think I may be starting to develop an obsession with Tyson Ritter from this video. Dark curly hair is my favorite. And his eyes are..... *daydreams* Sorry, what was I saying? Oh yeah! The video! *watches obsessively*

Hips Don't Lie!? *Gags* Move Along does work (LOVE the video), but I've found that Swing, Swing is better.
Other songs that have gotten stuck in my head recently...
Spitting Games - Snow Patrol
Swing, Swing - AAR
Bite Back - AAR
The Killing Lights - AFI
The Interview - AFI
Man Overboard - Blink-182
No, It Isn't - +44

I really didn't like AAR until after they DLS had left the radio, as I am NOT immune to overplayage (Is that even a word? ). It has ruined Hinder, Nickleback, Coldplay, and a bunch of others for me. Luckily Move Along never caught on here so I'm not sick of it. It will be a sad day indeed when I am tired of hearing it.
And the song that pwns all else when it comes to getting stuck in your head... Sexyback.

I agree Hips Don't Lie = *double gag* It does make you want to shake your hips though.
Sadly, I'm not immune to overplayage either. I don't quite hate Coldplay yet, but the other two tim4x mentioned, Hinder and Nickelback, the media has ruined for me.
Sexyback. *shudders* When I went to this one thing this summer (long story), it was a bunch of us teenage girls driving around in a van a lot. Every time that song came on, which was every five seconds, it had to be blasted. Truly that song is the spawn of Satan, Satan being Justin Timberlake in this case I guess.
To think that my fifth grade self actually liked him.
I'm supposedly getting the AAR CD off my friend today so I can listen to DLS as much as I want until I get tired of it, or just listen to their other stuff. Hoipefully it works. In the meantime, it's still stuck in there.

yback... yes, I was in the same boat. I was more of a Lance Bass fan (*face smack*) but I N*SYNC in concert way back when. Long before he was 'sexy'. he was just.....dreamy? was that a word we would've used to describe him?
DLS, while I don't like it that much, still kick yback's butt, though.

i was totally a lance fan. my best friend was in looooove with justin. she got to see n*sync in concert and she brought me back a postcard, lol. i still have it, even though it represents my most awful music tastes EVER.
but a song that has been stuck in my head recently is "irreplaceable" by beyonce.
i don't even like that kind of music. that song is just so catchy, and fun to sing.
and i definitely agree with the overplayage thing. it has ruined hinder and nickelback for me. but not coldplay. i think maybe it must be where i live, but coldplay doesn't get a lot of radio action here. so maybe i'm lucky, because they are the one of the best things that ever happened to music.
something i do to get rid of a song is just turn on an entirely different kind of music. whether it be bluegrass, celtic, classical, whatever. it usually helps me.

Aw. Thanks Gil. You're so nice. And I'm glad you agree about the music video.
Took by Marriage, that might be a good idea. I think I should try it. Thanks. And yes, NSYNC is definitely one of my worst music tastes ever. I can't believe I ever liked them now.
I think it might be almost over. I still want to listen to it and watch the video, but less frequently. Currently, I'm listening to Brand New, who i haven't listened to in forever, and they're pretty get-stuck-in-your-head for me. Hopefully one of their songs will replace DLS in my head.

i have The Killing Lights stuck in my head, i suggest singing the band aid song, it goes like this
"I'm stuck on my band aid cause my band aid's stuck on me." And repeat that several times, it usually works..
