hmm...well obviously my name is derived from my two favorite movies, but there is more of a story to it than that. the first time i used this name was on Quizilla because every POTC or LOTR name under the sun was taken. I even tried Lord of the Caribbean, and that was taken! so, after much brainstorming, i developed the name Pirate of the Rings (later simplified to pirateoftherings). then i decided i liked it, so i used it for my email address (sounds so much nicer than anakin602003, my old one). about then i figured out that nobody uses this name, so it kinda became my unviersal indentity. pretty much anywhere you go that there's a pirateoftherings, it's me (except for AIM...somebody beat me to it there). so, three years later, here i am still using this name

My first LotR related name ever was Elenion Ancalima meaning Brightest of Stars in Quenya. (When Frodo calls out to Eärendil using the Phial of Galadriel against Shelob, "Aiya Eärendil Elenion Ancalima.")
Later I shortened it to EA.... and after I read the Silmarillion I found out that Eä was the first word ever spoken (by Ilúvatar when the world was created).... I thought that'd be appropriate since I love talking!!! And then it still connects to my former name!

A long time ago I did a random elvish name engine, and Lúthien was what popped up on my name. I've used it for everything on the internet ever since. The "Star lover" part came from me... I love stars so i put it on my name to make it a bit more unique.

Ditto.
My ancestory dates back to Norway. I often refer to myself as the Scottish Viking.
I'm a proud follower of the Old Ways.

So my name literally means something like "Be it" or something... Hmmm...
*goes to search on EoA*
Here it is: Eä
The universe
Dates: The entirety of existence
Location: Everywhere
Origins: Created by Ilúvatar through the Music of the Ainur
Pronunciation: Something close to 'ayah'
Meaning: 'Let these things be'
The universe, which was brought into existence when Ilúvatar spoke the word 'Eä!', 'Be!'.

I was born and raised in Sweden and I have always been a huge fan of the old mythology as well as the Swedish folklore and folktales (much of which Tolkien borrowed stuff from) and so I definitely see myself as a Viking.

It's always a pleasure to meet a fellow Viking. I really hope to one day be able to visit my ancestoral home. Maybe once my daughter is a little older I can take her over there and show her where we came from.

wow. interesting name origins. I don't have a long explanation for my name. I think that the evenstar is a really pretty pendant, and mirkwood is my home, so I made myself the evenstar of mirkwood, and nobody else uses this name.

I've got a long explanation. Maybe a couple of years ago, I was making up my own LotR character, and I needed an elvish name. I found the word "Elenya" in the RotK book appendix, it means starlight. My character's full name is Elenya Dinhedelwen. A friend came up with the Dinedhelwen, it means silent elf maiden. Actually I added the "wen" (maiden) to the end. But I just went with Elenya on here because it's easier to remember. lol

Oh you should definitely do so!! Norway is so beautiful and wild. Sweden as well. I am just so incredibly proud to live up here in the North.

Jep..proud vikings!
...Norway and Sweden have amazing natural beauty!
..like Rohan & Gondor, while Denmark, where I come from
...is the cozy green garden....like The Shire....
I made my name up, about 6 years ago...used the Z, from my own name, as it is a unique letter and worked my way from there...I use it everywhere...if you see it on another board...then it´s me!
