I must disagree with JF, I think the defending champions should always come back for the next round. This would ensure that a large crowd always participates in the voting because Jack would always be in it. I do understand that sitting the defending champions out allows more characters to win, but if people get sick of a certain character winning then they will simply not vote for them.
Also I might consider allowing only six votes per day. Three for each person to add to any character and three for each person to subtract from any character. This would also bring more people to the voting, because their votes would matter more. These are just me humble opinions and anyone can feel free to disagree with them.
Oh by the way I am actually a guy, just so everyone knows.

^I still think it's fairer to take out the winner of the last round, because if we have a few dedicated fans voting for someone like...Norry, for example, every round, it going to get boring for everyone else. Because I know me, I would vote for the same person.

Gah, I'm torn now.
As long as we can keep voting once evey hour (give or take a few minutes as I think we've all don at some point) I'm happy.

wow, trying to digest all of this...  my brain simply isn't working at the moment.
But for now (while I try to figure out what would be a happy medium) hopefully once summer starts more people will have time to bum around and vote.

I don't know, I always have liked the idea that the defending champions should return the next round. The last round is a perfect example. Norrington was in the round and yet Barbossa still won. I believe there are more Norrington fans than Barbossa ones, but he still came out on top because people did not want to see Norrington win again. I am going to be bold here and say that even Jack would not be able to win every round. He might win often, but people will get sick of it and eventually vote for someone else.
I do agree with JF and Tar that the system we have been using is good, but I am just giving suggestions for what I believe would make it better.  _________________ <center>

Hm, so from what I can gather we have a few options now...
1.) we can keep it the way it is
2.) we can start bringing all the characters back
3.) we can have champions sit out for 2 rounds instead of one
4.) or we could turn the voting to only + and never - the characters... 
I dunno, what do you guys think?
