I honestly can't believe Kit was born the same year as me. I always thought she was one of those grand old people. Like Gwen, only Gwen is actually younger than me.

To be old is no indication of their position in society nor is it a scale of rating. "Old age" is a number that has been adding one each year since your very existence.
Age is the knowledge you possess during those numbers of years. Older people can be as silly as a regular little girl or boy but that hasn't stopped them none.
