Quite right, that's what menu means in Germany's Burger King and McDonald’s FFRs. What Anglophones, derived from Norman French, call a menu is called a “Speisekarte” here. What is termed a menu (actually “Menü”) in more conventional restaurants is a starter dish, main course and dessert package – but in contrast to FFRs does not include the beverage. The menu can have more than three courses, but rarely reaches the seven-course level of some French restaurants.

Some slices of Emmentaler cheese with a bit of pepper on them.

Got it. "the menu" is the combo meal deals, and all the individual items are things you can order that are not on the menu. :hammer: :lol: :roll:

I had a Nimbin cheese sandwich on multi-grain with black garlic mayonnaise. It was on my menu. ;)
