I was looking over the AU Family Trees the other day and the little lightbulb went off - what about an AU Family Gathering/Reunion? It could be sort of the same layout as the Elvish and Hobbit Ball, except there would be little places for people to meet up with their sisters, uncles, etc. ((Of course it might be a bad idea to change names for the occasion... ![]() After all, it might be a nice idea to make use of the lovely trees and get everyone back in the family spirit. |

What a wonderful idea, Aramel! I think this could be just the thing to give us a new AU spirit. ![]() |

I wouldn't really mind it all that much, except for the fact that there are tons of people now who aren't part of the family tree. This sort of includes me. I have my own little (big?) family, but it's spread between something like twenty other families. So I'm thinking this might seem a bit excluding to those of the members who haven't got families... |

I really like the idea of getting the families together. Not too sure on the name changing part though - it's hard enough to remember who is who without having names changes to confuse us mere mortals even more. ![]() |

I like that idea! And it would be fun to email some nonactive members and ask them to come back and meet the latest family members. ![]() Though Anameleth has a point, it would kind of exclude people who aren't part to the family tree. But there could still be just a general thread for non-members, I guess. ![]() |

Well everyone has the opportunity to join the families... it's not like you need to have been here so long, or to have posted to many times to join... so if people haven't joined... *shrugs* .. I'm not really sure what the problem is with the rest of us having a get together.... I mean, it's not our fault of people don't join for whatever reason..... |

Yes, I totally agree, JF - And I was thinking there could also be something like an adoption center to adopt new members into whichever line. ![]() So, now that we have some people that want to join - what dates should we hold it? I know a lot of people are going to school right now and then there's the whole timezone mess... Of course we'll also need some planning time, so next week is out of the question. ![]() |

Well... yeah... I didn't think of that. ![]() Gosh, the school thing is such a mess! Maybe if it takes up a weekend, so everyone has a chance to meet everyone else. |

Yeah, I know what you mean, but I just don't want people starting to make us all feel bad and everything and be party poopers when it's in their hands. It's just like if it's a party for people over 17... now that would be unfair as you have no control over your age do you? |

You're right... and besides, it is mostly the family members that take part in the forum-wide events anyway. It'll also be a good time for people who have been thinking about joining to actually join. ![]() |

That's very true. I think if more people joined the families, that would not be a bad thing. Makes newer people and older people feel even more at home, if they are part of a family. ![]() |

A family reunion sounds great! I can hardly remember who I'm related to. We would be allowed to mingle with those not specifically in our family, though, right? |
