E~S is correct, it was about 7 minutes easy walking to work. But as 01 May is a holiday in Germany (as so much of the rest of the world, we're just a bunch of commies - or so a certain bunch of ignoramuses in a country I won’t name that E~S lives north of think ), today is my first day on which my retirement takes real effect. As for sleeping, my sleep pattern is still wandering aimlessly around the clock, so I slept twice yesterday, both times at for me unusual times.

More squirrels are showing up on the meadow below our balcony. And apparently a new (young?) raven, too. While one of the veteran ravens even walked (a bit) closer to the balcony to then pick up the walnut I threw down, this other one flies “patrol” from left to right or the other way around (sometimes disappearing behind our largish apartment house on one side and appearing on the other side), but takes cover even if I just chuck down a peanut, and not even in its direction. Might be the same one who thought pecking at a walnut to be a useful technique for a raven to open it.

Went to the Hans Zimmer Revealed concert last night. What a great show! A young lady I met on the Minas Tirith message board back in '03 was one of the violinists in the band and performed the DiVinci Code soundtrack song beautifully! And their guitarist could really make his Fender sing with his slide fret work! Was a great show!
Today I did laundry and washed the inside of the car windscreens to get rid of the glaze that builds up. When I go to work this time of year, the low sun causes this glaze to reflect, and it makes it really hard to see. A good windex wash really makes a big difference!

Super glad I didn't put in a fish pond when it was offered. I just spent an couple of hours "supervising" my neighbour as she and her hubby clean the crap out of their pond.

My eleven-year-old (formerly) tri-function 9600x2400 dpi inkjet, now only copier, claims it need one of its five ink cartridges replaced. Time for retirement, methinks, since I already have a tri-function 4800x1200 dpi inkjet replacement.

I'm closer in proximity to Hanasian, and yet another three hours behind him... It's 3:49 am here and 11:49 PM there...

I will check on the Eurovision Song Contest later when they start going through the polling results. @Hanasían: Australia is in the finals (via one of the two semis) again; seems they were invited as guests once and decided they liked it so much they have continued in the competition? (I would not qualify as an ESC historian by any stretch of the imagination …)

The current equation in my house: 3 days = 3 mice = 1 happy dog. And, no, I don't want to talk about it.
