I'm too tired to put away laundry. Why can't it just put itself away?

My inner orc was unleashed today as I went to work on the overhanging branches of the neighbor's huge paperbark tree. Assembled my 6 meter branch lopper and gave it a test run. Only used 4 meters this time as there was no need to extend it the other 2 meters. Got the branches out of the wires coming to our house from the pole. Still need to address an Elm sapling that has gone feral. May get that this afternoon.

We ran out of peanuts late last week. But since a combination of my lingering cold and lousy sleep kept us from shopping Friday and yesterday, we’re still out (and a bit low on supplies ourselves). So the older squirrels who come hopping closer when they see movement on our balcony have been hopping away empty-pawed (actually empty-mouthed, since they carry the nuts in their mouths) for the last few days.

Speaking of squirrels, Oscar has two that are keeping him busy as they collect hazelnuts from the trees next door. Now the Blue Jays have arrived so it will be double duty for the next couple of weeks.

Went shopping yesterday, so we’ve refilled our peanut “ammunition” (walnuts and hazelnuts have disappeared from the supermarket shelves for quite a while, at least where we shop). As has happened occasionally before, now the squirrels were absent for a while, but two of the younger ones just showed up (but you have to almost bonk them on their heads with a peanut for them to get the “here-be-food” message).

We seem to be acquiring more squirrels in the hazelnut trees much to Oscar's dismay. The Stellar Jays and crows have arrived as well.

I'm hoping the weather changes on Saturday and does not rain like it has been forcasted earlier in the week. Myself and a bunch of friends are planning an all day trip to New Hampshire for fun and shenanigans at Canobie Lake Park.

My inner orc was successful in clearing the entangled overhanging branches from the wires from my house to the utility pole. They hang free and clear now.
I do need to remove a sapling growing under the big tree, before it gets unmanageable, but for now I just cut off the offending branches.

I'm glad that all of my relatives and friends in Florida are okay and well after Hurricane Irma.

I'm glad everyone was okay, Gersemi.

I watched the coverage on CNN. It was scary but they seem to have come through it very well considering what could have happened if it had remained a Cat 5 hurricane.

Thanks. It was only Cat 2 when it hit the area where all my relatives lived in, so they were all lucky. It was Cat 4 when it hit Miami and the Keys. I have a friend from Miami and he had to evacuate his home. There was only minor damage done to my relatives properties. One of my aunt's lost part of her roof during Hurricane Charlie years ago. Although not all of them have their power restored yet.

They sound wonderful! Love using good Romas for making pico de gallo and salsa!
