We've had a couple of days, or rather nights, of frost, which is supposed to continue for some more days - our first (smallish) "cold snap".

We've had a series of storms this past week. No snow, thank goodness - but very strong winds and torrential rains.

Ate up the last half bag of peanuts (in their shells, so it was a bit more of a chore that your run-of-the-mill salted peanuts without shells - and not salted either) last night. So I had none left for the magpies & other larger birds today, have to buy some bags before Christmas.

The high winds continued last week and wreaked havoc. My area was without hydro for 78 hours. Fortunately, we regained power the day before Christmas Eve.
On the Friday I went to the hospital for my second procedure, so I was reasonably warm considering the surgical floor is kept rather cool.[/color]

Saw the waning moon (still a bit more than half full, half moon should be on Saturday as per our calendar) hovering "over" the building to the west of us, quite a bit after sunrise and on its way to moonset.

My heart is growing ever too fond of someone as of late and don't like it. I hate this feeling.

I've somehow double booked the dog (vet) - removal of stitches - and myself - removal of stent) on Tuesday morning at 9:45. Thankfully, the vet's clinic and my doctor's clinic are next door to each other.

Got a book about wolf-packs which inhabited the Banff National Park and surrounding areas in Alberta and British Columbia for Christmas. Seems the National Parks are going too much the Disney way, making life tough not just for the wolves, but pretty much all of the wildlife there. Not a pretty picture.

Woke up with my stomach muscles spasming again. Couldn't go to work like that. I hate calling out because it.

Finally got around to reading a book that I had bought months ago, but for some odd reason (don't ask me what it was, one of those occasional unexplainable quirks) had put to the side unopened for a long time, very unusual for me.

Everything has been grey: my mood and the skies. *sigh* I wish winter was over.

My cold is sticking around rather long, nose has been dripping (if not worse) for two weeks now. As I have occasionally had sinusitis (and my ears seem to be affected, too), I'll probably head over to the ear, nose, and throat specialist tomorrow.

I hope you're feeling better soon, Gando.
We're expecting snow here, although I have my doubts. We haven't had any measurable amount of snow so far this winter. Hopefully, that will remain the case. My crocuses and daffodils are coming through the earth now. I can't wait until they bloom. This seems to have been an unusually long winter.

The mole which is very active in our meadow has me wondering if he has Egyptian ancestors. Not that he gets the pyramid shape right in any way, but those molehills he's piling up (and lots of them) are pretty darn big!

We're currently more in a thaw situation, at least during the daytime (nights can get below freezing due to starry skies). I’m just hoping we’re not getting a head start on the 2019 drought season as early as February!
